CM Fadnavis Directs Acceleration of Maharashtra’s Development Schemes
Mumbai, Dec 2025 : Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has directed that every government department should adopt new technologies, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), IT, and electronics, to make public welfare schemes more accessible and efficient for citizens and to accelerate Maharashtra’s progress-oriented initiatives.
The instructions came during a review meeting of pending issues under the 100-Day Program, held at the CM’s residence, Varsha. The meeting was attended by CM’s Additional Chief Secretary Ashwini Bhide, Secretary Shrikar Pardeshi, and the Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, and Secretaries of the concerned departments.
CM Fadnavis emphasized that technical, administrative, or other challenges should be resolved immediately to achieve the objectives of the 100-day program. All departments were instructed to expedite public welfare-related work and ensure completion of high-quality initiatives within set timelines.
According to the review, out of 883 pending strategic points across departments, action has been completed on 807 points, achieving 91% completion by December 16, 2025, up from 78% on May 1, 2025, showing significant progress in a short time. Currently, 76 major initiatives are in progress across sectors such as general administration, social justice, urban development, disability welfare, forestry, housing, soil and water conservation, backward class welfare, public works, sports, youth welfare, food and civil supplies, IT, environment, tourism, public health, medical education, tribal development, water supply and sanitation, rehabilitation, women and child development, skill development, employment, entrepreneurship, revenue, and agriculture.
The review also included follow-ups on announcements made by CM Fadnavis during various programs, tours, and events, with 48 announcements actively being implemented. Each department had specific targets and deadlines under the 100-day strategic program, and many pending tasks have already been completed, with remaining items under progress.
The CM reviewed progress on industrial and infrastructure development, pilgrimage and tourism projects, water conservation, health service strengthening, and comprehensive development of marginalized groups. Emphasis was also placed on electric vehicle policy, eco-friendly initiatives, skill development, employment generation, new technologies, digital and smart governance.
Key reviewed actions included:
- Pension reforms and API integration with NITI Aayog
- Seed funding for third-gender individuals
- Establishment of shelters and skill development programs
- “Chala Jaauya Vanala” initiative under the Harit Sena for students
- AI-based drone and virtual wall systems to warn citizens of wildlife threats
- DPR approval for 5,000 mill workers’ homes
- Development of a universal portal for corporations and subsidiaries
- Completion of missing links and bridges on Nashik-Mumbai and Mumbai-Pune highways
- Land acquisition processes for Nagpur-Goa expressway
- Funding for international athletes, including coaches and physiotherapists
- Distribution of smart notices to citizens
- Formulation of Drone and AI policies
- Installation of real-time river water quality monitoring systems
- Approval of proposed Shivsrishti Theme Park by high-level committees
These steps highlight the government’s development-focused and technology-driven approach to accelerate Maharashtra’s progress under CM Fadnavis’s leadership.
