Thoughts of Sant Vamanbhau Maharaj Will Continue to Guide Generations: Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis
Golden Kalash Installation Ceremony on the Death Anniversary of Sant Vamanbhau Maharaj
Beed, Jan 2026 : Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that the thoughts of the great Sant Vamanbhau Maharaj of the Nath tradition, who showed society the path of spirituality, moral conduct and unity, have become even more relevant with time and will continue to guide society for generations through his kirtans, devotion to the divine name, and teachings.
The Chief Minister was speaking at a programme organised on the occasion of the 50th golden jubilee death anniversary of Sant Vamanbhau Maharaj. On the occasion, Environment Minister Pankaja Munde, Gadinath of the fort Vitthal Maharaj, legislators Dhananjay Munde, Suresh Dhas, Monika Rajale, former MLA Jaydatt Kshirsagar, Bhimrao Dhonde, Vikramanand Shastri, Swami Vishweshwaranandji Maharaj and other dignitaries were present.
Chief Minister Fadnavis said that he had come to bow at the feet of Sant Vamanbhau Maharaj and seek his blessings on the occasion of the saint’s death anniversary. He added that the invitation was not extended to him as the Chief Minister, but as a devotee of Sant Vamanbhau Maharaj and a servant of Gahininath Gad by Vitthal Maharaj, and it was in that spirit that he was present.
Describing Sant Vamanbhau Maharaj as a great saint of the Nath tradition and regarded as an incarnation of Lord Shankar, the Chief Minister said he was a true spiritual guide who showed direction to society. Travelling through valleys and hills, the saint propagated the Bhagwat tradition and spread the message of unity. He instilled in society the belief that purity of mind leads to purity in conduct. Such was the spiritual power of his teachings that even thieves gave up theft and became devotees, he said.
It is believed that Sant Vamanbhau Maharaj possessed the power of fulfilled speech. Through his kirtans and thoughts, spirituality reached even the last person in society. No matter how many generations pass, his kirtans, devotion and teachings remain equally relevant even today, Chief Minister Fadnavis noted.
The tradition of distributing prasad was highlighted as a key feature of Sant Vamanbhau Maharaj’s legacy, with arrangements made to provide full meals to devotees wherever a religious week-long programme is held. The large demand from various villages to host future such programmes stands testimony to the saint’s blessings, the Chief Minister said.
He further stated that various development works at Gahininath Gad are being undertaken under government schemes and are being completed in phases. Necessary land has been made available at Pandharpur, and work on the development of the palkhi route will also begin soon.
Clarifying that he would take responsibility for all development works at Gahininath Gad along with public representatives not as the Chief Minister but as a devotee, Fadnavis said he would continue to visit the fort every year whenever possible to seek the blessings of Sant Vamanbhau Maharaj.
Speaking on the occasion, Environment Minister Pankaja Munde said that Sant Vamanbhau Maharaj imparted values that helped people remain humane even in difficult times. His teachings of truth, unity and service are still alive across Maharashtra. The working class, the poor and the marginalised sections of society have not forgotten his thoughts.
She added that under the leadership of Chief Minister Fadnavis, the development of Gahininath Gad has taken a grand shape, befitting the faith of devotees. The work undertaken for the development of places of faith for the common people will surely earn the blessings of the public.
A large number of devotees were present at the event.
