Rajasthan Govt Empowers Marginalised Sections Through Concessional Loans
Jaipur, January 2026 : Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma, the state government is taking significant steps toward the economic empowerment of deprived sections of society. The government is implementing several programmes focused on self-employment, skill development, and vocational training to help these sections become self-reliant and independent. Keeping the spirit of Antyodaya at the core, policies and schemes are being implemented to move firmly toward the goal of a developed, inclusive, and empowered Rajasthan.
In this direction, a notable initiative has been undertaken by the Rajasthan Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe Finance and Development Cooperative Corporation Limited, functioning under the Social Justice and Empowerment Department. During the financial year 2024–25, the corporation approved concessional-interest loans worth approximately ₹20 crore for 1,381 beneficiaries belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, sanitation workers, and persons with disabilities. This initiative will enable beneficiaries to access new opportunities for self-employment.
The Chief Minister’s visionary approach and the objective of this scheme are to provide financial assistance for self-employment, business expansion, and education, enabling beneficiaries to become job providers rather than job seekers. This initiative is proving to be an important step toward the economic empowerment of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, persons with disabilities, and sanitation workers.
Loan Benefits to Various Sections
The state government is ensuring that all public welfare schemes reach the intended beneficiaries. Under this initiative, during the previous year, loans amounting to approximately ₹7.52 crore were approved for 671 Scheduled Caste beneficiaries, ₹3.25 crore for 325 Scheduled Tribe beneficiaries, ₹3.81 crore for 106 sanitation workers, and ₹58.08 lakh for 51 persons with disabilities. Overall, loans totaling nearly ₹20 crore were distributed among eligible beneficiaries from various sections.
Online Application Process Completed for 2025–26
Under the Chief Minister’s sensitive leadership, the online loan application process for the financial year 2025–26 has been completed. Against a target of 3,470 applications, as many as 15,635 applications were received, reflecting growing public trust in the scheme. During January 2026, district-level loan selection committees will conduct interviews district-wise. After selected applicants complete the required documentation, the loan amounts will be transferred directly to their bank accounts through DBT.
Loans Approved Through Banks as Well
Under the Scheduled Caste Sub-Plan, loans are also being approved through nationalised and private banks. Against a target of 3,400, loans have already been sanctioned to 2,670 individuals through various banks. Under the Prime Minister’s Scheduled Caste Abhyudaya Yojana (PM-AJAY), eligible beneficiaries receive a grant of 50 percent of the project cost or a maximum of ₹50,000, whichever is less. For the financial year 2025–26, grants worth ₹452 lakh have already been approved for Scheduled Caste beneficiaries.
Under the effective leadership of the Chief Minister, the state government, guided by the spirit of Antyodaya, continues to stand with every needy section of society. By providing economic support, the government is working continuously toward the goal of making people self-reliant and independent.
