Discussions held with Sri Lankan conglomerate John Keells on investment opportunities

On the second day of the World Economic Forum Davos visit, Principal Secretary, Technical Education, Skill Development and Employment, Shri Manish Singh, held a meeting with Shri Krishan Balendra, Chairman of Sri Lanka’s leading conglomerate John Keells Holdings PLC. The discussions focused on potential investment and collaboration opportunities in Madhya Pradesh.

During the meeting, detailed deliberations were held on opportunities available in the state in key sectors such as logistics, hospitality, food processing and tourism. Information on the policies implemented by the state government to promote investment and the incentives available thereunder was also shared with the delegation.

The John Keells Group shared details of its existing business linkages with Indian companies and its current presence in India through various tie-ups. Principal Secretary Shri Singh highlighted Madhya Pradesh’s investor-friendly policies, strong infrastructure, skilled human resources and industry-friendly ecosystem, and invited the John Keells Group to explore investment opportunities in the state.
