Amaravati, Sept 2026 : Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, along with his family members, offered prayers on the occasion of Vinayaka Chavithi on Monday and prayed for the prosperity, welfare and development of the state.
Naidu performed the traditional puja to Lord Ganesha at his residence in the presence of his wife Bhuvaneswari and grandson Devansh. The Chief Minister later shared his thoughts on the festival through a post on social media platform X, describing the worship of Lord Ganesha with his family as a deeply fulfilling spiritual experience.
Naidu said Lord Ganesha, also revered as Gananathudu and Vighneshwara, represents wisdom, discernment and victory. He noted that beginning auspicious activities with Vinayaka puja is an important tradition and said the festival carries a wider social message of unity, togetherness and collective responsibility.
According to the Chief Minister, Vinayaka Chavithi celebrations organised in different parts of the state are not merely religious events but also enduring symbols of Andhra Pradesh's cultural and spiritual traditions. He said such celebrations encourage people to come together and strengthen social harmony.
Naidu prayed that the blessings of Lord Ganesha would bring happiness and prosperity to every household. He also sought divine blessings for the removal of obstacles in the state's development and expressed hope that Andhra Pradesh would prosper and the Telugu people would live with happiness and unity.
Earlier, the Chief Minister had extended his Vinayaka Chavithi greetings to the people of the state. He said the festival brings together people from different sections of society and promotes a sense of community.
Naidu urged people to preserve their cultural traditions while also protecting the environment. He encouraged devotees to worship clay idols of Lord Vinayaka as part of environmentally responsible celebrations. He prayed that there would be no obstacles in the government's efforts towards public welfare and the development of Andhra Pradesh.
Governor S. Abdul Nazeer also conveyed his greetings to the people on the occasion. He described Vinayaka Chavithi as an important festival celebrated with devotion, enthusiasm and the participation of family members.
The Governor said devotees traditionally worship Lord Vigneswara as the remover of obstacles and the bestower of prosperity. He also noted that prayers to Lord Ganesha are customarily offered at the beginning of new ventures, seeking success and divine blessings.
Deputy Chief Minister and Jana Sena Party leader Pawan Kalyan also extended his greetings to the people. He said Ganesh Chaturthi brings together faith, wisdom and the spirit of new beginnings.
Pawan Kalyan prayed that Lord Ganesha would bless every household with peace, happiness, good health and success. He said the festival should inspire people to face challenges with courage, make wise choices and move forward with faith and purpose.
He also called for celebrating the festival with responsibility and respect for the environment, while preserving the country's rich cultural traditions. He expressed hope that the sacred occasion would inspire harmony, devotion and optimism.
Former Chief Minister and YSR Congress Party president Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy also greeted the people on Ganesh Chaturthi. In a post on X, he invoked the blessings of Vighneshwara, the remover of obstacles, and Siddhi Vinayaka, the bestower of victory, and wished everyone in Andhra Pradesh a happy and prosperous festival.
The messages from leaders across the political spectrum highlighted the religious, cultural and social significance of Vinayaka Chavithi, while emphasising unity, environmental responsibility, public welfare and the continued prosperity of Andhra Pradesh.
