New Delhi, September 2026 : On the occasion of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji’s birthday, the Rekha Gupta government in Delhi will organise four major programmes on Thursday, centred on service, dedication and public participation. These include the lighting of 1.25 lakh diyas at Kartavya Path, a mega blood donation camp at Thyagaraj Stadium, a 108-kund yagya at Khatu Shyam Delhi Dham and the launch of the ‘Namo Shramik Seva Kendra’ for workers. Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta said that to mark 25 years of the Prime Minister Ji’s public life, the Delhi government will run a month-long Seva Sankalp Abhiyan. During this period, various projects related to transport, roads, sewerage, water treatment, education, electricity, public facilities and urban beautification will be inaugurated and foundation stones laid.

1.25 Lakh Diyas for ‘Aashirwad Ka Diya’ for PM

A special diya-lighting programme will be organised under the ‘Aashirwad Ka Diya’ campaign on the occasion of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji’s birthday. At 7 pm on Thursday, 1.25 lakh diyas will be lit at Kartavya Path by beneficiaries of government schemes and others. The event, being organised under the leadership of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, will mark 25 years of the Prime Minister’s public life and be dedicated to his commitment to service, dedication and nation-building. Inspired by the guiding principle of ‘Jan Seva Se Desh Seva’, the programme will convey a strong message of public participation and the spirit of service. The 1.25 lakh diyas lit together will symbolise citizens’ wishes, blessings, participation and commitment to serving the nation. The Chief Minister has urged Delhi residents to light an ‘Aashirwad Ka Diya’ for the Prime Minister at their homes and courtyards between 6 pm and 7 pm on Thursday. She said the diya would symbolise citizens’ prayers and wishes for the Prime Minister Ji’s good health, long life and continued service to the nation.

Mega Blood Donation Camp at Thyagaraj Stadium

As part of the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, a mega blood donation camp will be held at Thyagaraj Stadium from 11 am to 5 pm on Thursday, with a target of collecting 2,500 units of blood. Blood banks from 11 Delhi government hospitals, along with the Army Hospital, Lady Hardinge College, Safdarjung Hospital and the Indian Red Cross Society, will participate in the camp. People associated with the Health Department, Delhi Police, Home Guards and Civil Defence, DTC, Revenue Department, Municipal Corporation of Delhi, NDMC, Delhi Fire Service, Education Department, Red Cross, NGOs, RWAs and the corporate sector will also donate blood. The Chief Minister has appealed to Delhi residents to participate in the campaign.

108-Kund Yagya for the Prime Minister

A 108-kund yagya will be organised on the Prime Minister’s birthday at Khatu Shyam Delhi Dham on GT Karnal Road in Alipur. The yagya will be held as a prayer and expression of good wishes for the Prime Minister’s good health, long life and continued service to the nation. Visually impaired children will also recite the Hanuman Chalisa in chorus on the occasion.

Government Services to Reach Workers Directly

The Delhi government will launch the ‘Namo Shramik Seva Kendra’ for workers. The centres will provide assistance with registration and renewal, document verification, information on application status and various welfare schemes, as well as guidance on claims and other services, all at one place. The Chief Minister said the government’s objective is to ensure that workers do not have to make repeated trips to government offices for services and that essential services are instead made available closer to them.

PM Has Made Service to the Nation His Life’s Commitment

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta extended birthday wishes to Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi JI and said that he had risen from a humble family background to the office of Prime Minister through hard work, patriotism and dedication. She said that over 25 years in public life, from serving as the Chief Minister of Gujarat to becoming the Prime Minister of the country, he has accorded the highest priority to serving the nation. The Chief Minister said that on the Prime Minister ji’s birthday, citizens’ wishes, prayers and commitment to service would be the greatest gift for him, and she prayed for his good health and continued service to the nation.
