Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav chaired the 26th Board of Directors meeting of Madhya Pradesh Jal Nigam, held on Wednesday at Samatva Bhavan at the Chief Minister’s Residence. The Board approved a key proposal to restructure the existing Madhya Pradesh Jal Nigam Maryadit (MPJNM) and rename it the Madhya Pradesh Water and Sanitation Corporation (MP-WASCO). The proposal has been approved for submission to the Council of Ministers for final approval.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that, following its proposed restructuring and renaming, the Corporation will take on expanded responsibilities, new targets and additional resources in water resources development and sanitation management across the state. The Board also approved various agenda proposals presented by the Madhya Pradesh Jal Nigam for consideration and approval.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav approved the Board’s report prepared for the financial year 2023-24 and the unaudited annual accounts for 2024-25. He also authorised the Managing Director to represent Madhya Pradesh Jal Nigam on the project company constituted for development of a 60 MW grid-connected wind power project under the captive mode. The Board also approved holding a 26% equity stake in dematerialised form in the project company constituted for development of the project.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav approved the transfer of the equity shares of Madhya Pradesh Jal Nigam to the new office-bearers and the budget estimates of ₹57 crore prepared by the Corporation for the current financial year 2026-27. He also approved the reappointment of Shri Sumit Bose as an Independent Director on the Board of Directors of Madhya Pradesh Jal Nigam. The Chief Minister also approved a proposal to increase the tender-approval limit of the Managing Director of Madhya Pradesh Jal Nigam from ₹5 crore to ₹25 crore, in accordance with the project implementation and execution methodology.
Public Health Engineering Minister Smt. Sampatiya Uikey, Chief Secretary Shri Ashok Barnwal, Additional Chief Secretaries Shri Manish Rastogi and Smt. Dipali Rastogi, Additional Chief Secretary, PHE, Shri Sachin Sinha, Principal Secretary, PHE, Shri Manish Singh, Principal Secretary, Health, Shri Sandeep Yadav, Managing Director, Madhya Pradesh Jal Nigam Maryadit, Shri V.S. Choudhary Kolasani, and other members of the Board of Directors were present at the meeting.
