Hyderabad, Sept 2026 : Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Wednesday invited Singapore-based companies to invest in the state, assuring prospective investors of full support from the government.
The Chief Minister made the assurance during a meeting with a Singaporean delegation led by Augustine Lee, Permanent Secretary of the Energy Market Division in Singapore’s Ministry of Trade and Industry. The delegation met Revanth Reddy at the State Legislative Assembly to discuss investment opportunities and areas of cooperation.
According to the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), representatives from Singapore expressed interest in establishing semiconductor manufacturing facilities in Telangana. Welcoming the proposal, Revanth Reddy assured the delegation that the state government would extend all necessary support and facilitate investments by Singaporean companies.
The Singapore representatives responded positively to the investment proposals discussed during the meeting, the CMO said.
Revanth Reddy also briefed the delegation on several major development initiatives being undertaken by the Telangana government and sought Singapore’s financial and institutional support for these projects.
The Chief Minister invited the Singapore delegation to participate in the Telangana Global Summit, scheduled to be held at Bharat Future City in December this year. He highlighted the state’s plans to develop the future city as a major centre for investment, innovation and sustainable development.
During the meeting, Revanth Reddy outlined key aspects of the government’s Musi River rejuvenation project, including ongoing works on the first phase of the project. The initial phase covers the stretch from the confluence of the Musi and Eesa rivers up to Gandhi Sarovar.
The Chief Minister also discussed the government’s plans to promote a night economy in Hyderabad, aimed at expanding economic activity and creating additional opportunities across sectors.
Revanth Reddy highlighted the proposed development of Bharat Future City as a net-zero city and outlined the government’s vision of transforming Hyderabad into a major Knowledge Hub.
He informed the Singapore delegation about agreements entered into by the Telangana government with several globally recognised universities, including Harvard University, the University of Oxford, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and London Business School, for establishing offshore campuses in Hyderabad.
The Chief Minister said these initiatives would strengthen Hyderabad’s position as a destination for education, research, innovation and technology-driven investment.
The meeting also focused on strengthening cooperation between Telangana and Singapore in areas including advanced manufacturing, infrastructure, urban development and emerging technologies.
State Government Advisor K. Ramakrishna Rao, South Asia Senior Director Dr Francis Chong, Consul-General William Chik and other representatives from Singapore attended the meeting.
The Telangana government’s outreach to Singapore comes as the state seeks to attract investments in high-technology sectors, particularly semiconductors, while developing new urban and infrastructure projects aimed at supporting long-term economic growth.
