Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav virtually joined the Balaram Krishi Mahotsav programme held in Niwari from New Delhi. He addressed the farmers, emphasised the need to promote agricultural development, adopt modern technologies and increase farmers’ incomes. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav interacted with farmers and discussed various issues related to agriculture. He said that farmers’ prosperity is a priority for the state government and that continuous efforts are being made to provide them access to advanced technology, better facilities and the benefits of government schemes. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said, addressing the farmers present at the programme, that agriculture is set to become a strong pillar of Madhya Pradesh’s economy and the biggest guarantee of shared prosperity in the coming years. He urged farmers to make a fresh beginning in areas of their interest, including dairy farming, Shree Anna (millet) production, fisheries and horticulture. The Chief Minister said, “Our government stands with farmers at every stage, from the field to the factory.” He also urged all farmers to participate actively in the Balaram Krishi Mahotsav.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the government is committed to working continuously throughout the year for farmers’ welfare under the Krishak Kalyan Varsh initiative. Increasing farmers’ incomes and making agriculture more profitable are among the government’s highest priorities. He said that wider adoption of new technologies, improved seeds, modern agricultural machinery and scientific farming practices would help farmers increase both productivity and income. The Chief Minister said that events such as the Balaram Krishi Mahotsav provide farmers with an opportunity to interact directly with agricultural scientists and learn about advanced farm machinery, new technologies and improved agricultural practices. Farmers are being encouraged to use quality and improved seeds along with modern agricultural equipment to reduce cultivation costs and increase production. He added that the state government is promoting natural and organic farming alongside traditional agricultural practices. By adopting natural farming, farmers can achieve quality production at lower costs.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said the government is continuously working to provide farmers with essential facilities such as irrigation and electricity. Along with ensuring adequate power supply to farmers, agricultural infrastructure is being strengthened. He reiterated that the state government stands with farmers in all circumstances and is working sensitively to address their concerns.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said, highlighting various schemes being implemented for the advancement of youth, women, the poor and farmers, that the government’s objective is to bring every section of society into the mainstream of development. In rural areas, activities such as animal husbandry, tourism and other employment-oriented ventures, alongside agriculture, are being promoted to strengthen the rural economy. Efforts are also being made to economically empower rural communities through schemes related to gaushalas and animal husbandry. He urged farmers to seek guidance from agricultural scientists and experts of the Agriculture Department, adopt modern technologies and make greater use of natural farming, improved seeds and modern agricultural machinery.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that 2026 is being observed as the Krishak Kalyan Varsh in Madhya Pradesh, with various programmes and activities being conducted throughout the year for the benefit of farmers. Farmers are being provided loans at zero per cent interest. The repayment period for loans for Kharif and Rabi crops, earlier fixed at six months each, has now been extended to one year. Farmers can now repay their loans within one year from the date of borrowing. He further said that seeds have been provided to 2.5 crore farmers at subsidised rates across the state.

Progressive farmers were honoured for their achievements in various areas. In the presence of Apex Bank Chairman Mahendra Singh Yadav, Balaram Krishi Mahotsav State In-charge Kapil Darde, Niwari MLA Anil Jain, MP’s representative Rajesh Pateria, Collector Jamuna Bhide, Superintendent of Police Dr. Rai Singh Narwaria and other dignitaries. The farmers were honoured included Udaybhan Kushwaha of Devendrapura — Protected cultivation, Satish Banskar of Patharam — Medicinal farming, Suresh Kumar Sahu of Tarichar Kalan — Private Custom Hiring Centre, Kuldeep Singh Dangi of Madiya Khas — e-agricultural machinery subsidy, Arvind Ghosh of Tila — Dairy Plus, Surendra Kumar Yadav of Sujanpura — Gau-Maitri Scheme, Lalaram Sutrakar of Chachawali — Natural farming and Kailash Narayan Kevat of Thauna — Fish seed production
Shivani Kushwaha, a student of Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Niwari, was also honoured for securing 9th position in the state merit list in the Class 10 examination. Other meritorious students from the district were also felicitated.
