Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that the state government is sensitive to the concerns of all PESA Mobilisers and is making sincere efforts to support them. The government is considering measures concerning their employment and welfare, and a positive solution will certainly be found soon.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing women PESA Mobilisers from Mandla, Dindori and other districts at the Chief Minister’s residence on Wednesday. The women tied a rakhi to the Chief Minister as a gesture of affection and familial bonding. They also draped a traditional stole around him, presented flowers and a coconut, fed him sweets and said with affection that they had come to meet their elder brother at the Chief Minister’s residence.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav presented all the women with a token of affection as rakhi neg. He welcomed them to the Chief Minister’s residence and extended his best wishes. The Chief Minister also asked the women whether they were receiving the benefits under the Ladli Behna Yojana. They replied in the affirmative. He said the government is making efforts at every level to economically empower women and is committed to ensuring the economic security of all.
The PESA Mobilisers requested the Chief Minister to reinstate them in their previous positions. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the programme implemented under the PESA Act was a Central Government scheme and has since been discontinued. However, keeping the concerns and welfare of all PESA Mobilisers in mind, the Madhya Pradesh Government has written to the Ministry of Panchayati Raj and Rural Development, Government of India, seeking consideration of the matter.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav assured the women that the state’s Panchayat and Rural Development Department, Tribal Affairs Department, Social Justice Department and Finance Department are jointly working to address their concerns and find a solution for PESA Mobilisers. He said a positive solution would emerge soon.
