New Delhi, September 2026 : Meta Platforms founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg saw his estimated wealth rise by around $25 billion in a single day after the company’s shares surged nearly 12 per cent amid growing investor optimism over its artificial intelligence strategy ahead of the annual Meta Connect conference.
According to Forbes estimates, Zuckerberg’s fortune climbed to approximately $253.6 billion following Monday’s rally in Meta shares. The billionaire initially added about $12.9 billion to his wealth during early trading, but the stock’s gains strengthened through the session, taking his estimated one-day increase to around $25 billion.
The sharp rise in Meta’s market value placed Zuckerberg among the biggest wealth gainers of the day. Forbes’ Real-Time Billionaires list put him at sixth position, about $14.5 billion behind Google co-founder Sergey Brin. His estimated daily gain was also larger than that of Tesla CEO Elon Musk, whose wealth increased by about $12 billion during the same trading session.
Meta shares closed Monday up 11.4 per cent, marking their strongest one-day performance since April 2025. The rally added more than $190 billion to the company’s market value and came as investors assessed Meta’s latest developments in AI, particularly its new personal AI assistant, Muse.
Investor sentiment was further supported by Wells Fargo, which raised its price target for Meta from $640 to $796 while retaining its Overweight rating. The brokerage pointed to early adoption of Muse and the company’s broader AI product momentum as key factors ahead of Meta Connect 2026.
Meta launched Muse earlier this month as an AI-powered personal agent designed to carry out tasks rather than simply respond to conventional prompts. The assistant can perform functions such as sending emails, booking travel and completing forms, reflecting Meta’s effort to move towards more autonomous AI services.
Early user interest in Muse has also drawn attention from investors. Wells Fargo cited data indicating strong US downloads and daily active-user numbers for the assistant, while other reports said the app had reached the top of Apple’s US App Store rankings.
Zuckerberg has described the company’s long-term AI ambition in terms of delivering “personal superintelligence” across Meta’s platforms. The strategy forms part of a broader investment programme covering AI models, computing infrastructure, software agents and AI-enabled hardware.
The company’s AI plans are expected to take centre stage at Meta Connect 2026, scheduled for September 23 and 24. The event is expected to feature updates on Muse, Meta’s AI models and its growing portfolio of smart wearable technology.
The latest rally highlights the strong influence of investor expectations surrounding Meta’s AI strategy. For Zuckerberg, who owns roughly 13 per cent of Meta, movements in the company’s share price can translate into significant changes in his estimated net worth.
