Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that 30 per cent of Madhya Pradesh’s power capacity comes from clean energy. Madhya Pradesh is also emerging as a centre for renewable energy. Resolving the long-pending issue of promotions in the state’s power companies, more than 9,000 engineers and employees have been promoted. This has instilled renewed enthusiasm and confidence among employees to progress further. The issue of fringe benefits, pending in the power companies for nearly 20 years, has also been resolved. Various allowances, including night-shift allowance, conveyance allowance and compensatory allowance, have been revised. Nearly 25,000 officers and employees are benefiting from this decision.
Three long-pending pay anomalies concerning engineers in the power companies have also been resolved, providing much-needed relief to them. The health and well-being of the families of officers and employees is of great importance to the government. In this regard, a cashless mediclaim insurance scheme has been implemented for engineers and employees. A solar rooftop scheme has also been introduced for engineers, officers and employees under the company cadre in Madhya Pradesh’s power companies.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav addressed the felicitation ceremony organised by engineers and employees of the Energy Department. He inaugurated the programme at Ravindra Bhavan by lighting the ceremonial lamp. The Power Engineers and Employees Association, affiliated with the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh, felicitated Chief Minister Dr. Yadav for the decisions taken in the interest of employees and engineers. CM Dr. Yadav also extended his greetings on Engineers’ Day.
Madhya Pradesh Has Transformed from a Power-Deficit to a Power-Surplus State
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that efforts of officers and employees of the power sector have transformed Madhya Pradesh from a power-deficit state into a power-surplus state. Madhya Pradesh now has a massive power generation capacity of 29,000 MW.
The state is also emerging as a centre for renewable energy, with clean energy accounting for 30 per cent of its total power capacity. At the Invest Madhya Pradesh programme in Dubai, Madhya Pradesh received investment proposals worth more than ₹53,000 crore, with the highest investment interest in solar energy and green hydrogen. In view of the state’s growing energy requirements, new power generation units at the Satpura Thermal Power Station and Amarkantak Thermal Power Station have been approved. Over the past 12 years, Madhya Pradesh’s renewable energy capacity has increased more than 25-fold. The state has now established more than 11,000 MW of renewable energy capacity.
State Takes Major Leap in Renewable Energy
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that investment is coming into every sector for power generation in Madhya Pradesh. Electricity consumption will increase further with the establishment of data centres and AI centres in the state, but the Energy Department is moving ahead fully prepared to meet the growing demand. He said that during the Year of Farmer Welfare, farmers of the state would also benefit from adequate power availability. From the next agricultural season, farmers will receive 10 hours of daytime electricity for irrigation, providing them with greater convenience. The state has made a major leap in renewable energy. Madhya Pradesh has created a development ecosystem that will enable it to move ahead at twice the pace during the day and four times the pace at night.
State Government Continuously Taking Decisions in the Interest of Employees
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the state government is continuously taking decisions in the interest of its employees. More than 85,000 posts have been filled across various departments. By resolving the long-pending issue of promotions in the state, more than one lakh officers and employees have benefited. The state government will once again initiate the promotion process. He said that the government would always stand with all employees and workers as a family for their welfare. Promotions and fresh recruitments of engineers, officers and employees in the power companies will continue as needed.
Festivals Inspire Us to Fulfil Our Resolve
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that festivals such as Raksha Bandhan, Shri Krishna Janmashtami and Ganesh Chaturthi, as well as the traditions of Sanatan culture, constantly inspire us to make new pledges and work towards fulfilment. Engineers, officers and employees of the power sector are key contributors to the state’s progress and play a crucial role in ensuring an uninterrupted power supply. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, all states have received equal opportunities to move forward.
State’s Power Generation Capacity Continues to Grow
Energy Minister Shri Pradyuman Singh Tomar, in his virtual address, said that engineers and officers of the state’s Energy Department have performed exceptionally well in ensuring power supply. He extended his greetings on Engineers’ Day 2026.
Shri Kuldeep Singh Gurjar said that industries are developing rapidly in the state under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav. Madhya Pradesh’s power generation capacity has continued to increase. He said that Chief Minister Dr. Yadav has given priority to resolving employees’ issues across all departments and expressed gratitude to him on behalf of the employees.
