Jaipur, February 2026 : Chief Minister Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma has said that State Budget 2026-27 will advance Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of a developed India and it will also ensure overall and sustainable development of Rajasthan. He said that the budget proposals were prepared keeping the duties of rapid economic development, meeting hopes and aspirations of the people and holistic development in mind. “This budget is a document of our duties towards 8 crore people of the state,” he said.

Shri Sharma was addressing a press conference after Deputy Chief Minister (Finance) Diya Kumari presented the State Budget 2026-27 in the Rajasthan Assembly on Wednesday. He said that this budget – which was presented on the day of death anniversary of Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay, the founder of the idea of Antyodaya- was dedicated to welfare of the person standing in the last line. “It is dedicated to the women, young people, laborers, farmers and the deprived, he added. He further said that the budget included provisions for facilities and services in basic sectors such as electricity, water, education, medicine and for strengthening of infrastructure, which would make Rajasthan developed, prosperous and self-reliant. According to the Chief Minister, size of the State Budget for year 2026-27 is Rs. 6,10,956 crore, which is 41 percent more than the state’s budget for year 2023-24.
Our budget is based on 10 strong pillars
Shri Sharma said. These pillars include expansion of infrastructure; increase in quality of life from civic amenities; promotion of industrial development and investment; empowerment of human resources; robust social security system; promotion tourism, art & cultural heritage; good governance & digital transformation; agricultural development & farmers’ welfare; green development & environmental sustainability and creation of a $4.3 trillion economy by the year 2047.
The CM further added that Rajasthan Government was rapidly fulfilling its promises made to the public. The state government had made 1,441 budget announcements in the budget 2025-26, of which 1,246 announcements (86 percent) had been met with. Similarly, 1,188 announcements (93 percent) of the total 1,277 made in the year 2024-25 had also been implemented. He said that Budget 2026-27 is based Per capita income exceeded Rs. 2 lakh for the first time. Efficient financial management has led to a rapid improvement in the state’s economy, he said.
Per Capita Income Cross Rs. 2 lakh mark
As per the Budget Estimates this year, the state’s GSDP is likely to be Rs. 21,52,100 crore, which is about 41 percent more than 2023-24. At the same time, per capita income is likely to be Rs. 2,23,49 for the first time, which is 21.15 percent more than 2023-24. Chief Minister said that this budget provided for capital expenditure of Rs. 53,978 crore for infrastructure development, which was more than 2 times from 2023-24. He said that a provision of Rs. 32,526 crore had been made for medicine and health, which would be 53 percent more than 2023-24. The green budget has a provision of Rs. 33,476 crore, which is 20.81 percent more than last year.
Transparency in Competitive Exams
On the budget announcement of setting up of the Rajasthan State Testing Agency (RSTA), the CM said that it would ensure transparency in various public competitive examinations. He Sharma said that the as per this agency, online testing centers would be developed for conducting examinations in transparent manner. He said that the state government was offering many employment opportunities to the youth. “More than 1 lakh government appointments have been made so far in order to fulfill the resolution of 4 lakh jobs in 5 years. Recruitment to other 1 lakh 54 thousand posts is in process and a recruitment calendar of 1 lakh has also been released,” he said. He added that more than 2 lakh employment opportunities have been created in the private sector.
Provision of 4 thousand crore rupees in VB G RAM G
The Chief Minister said that a provision of Rs. 4 thousand crore was made under the VB G Ram G Yojana in the budget. Under Kisan Samman Nidhi, more than 10,900 crore rupees had been transferred to the bank accounts of 76 lakh farmers. Development works worth Rs. 32,000 crore will be started to bring Yamuna water to Shekhawati region. Work orders worth Rs. 26,000 crore had also been issued under Ram Setu water project. Namo Nurseries to be established at all district headquarters, Namo Parks at Panchayat level and Oxygen Zones in 16 districts, the CM listed the budget announcements.
69,000 crore allocated for education
Shri Sharma added that Rs. 69,000 crore allocated in order to expand education facilities all across the state. This allocation is 35 percent more than year 2023-24 allocations. As per these, 400 schools will also be upgraded as CM Rise Schools, for which a provision of Rs. 1000 crore has been made. In Jaipur, the JK Lon hospital would have a provision of 500-bed capacity IPD tower and 200-bed paediatric IPD in RUHS, Shri Sharma told the mediapersons.
Rural Women BPOs to be opened at districts
The Chief Minister said that Rural Women BPOs would be established across districts in Rajasthan. Under the Chief Minister Nari Shakti Udyam Protsahan Yojana, the women self-help groups would get loan upto Rs. 1 crore, which was presently capped at Rs. 50 lakh. As per Lakhpati Didi Yojana, the beneficiaries would be given loan upto Rs. 1.5 lakh by raising the limit of Rs. 1 lakh per person.
Shri Sharma stated that an ultra-luxurious special tourism zone would be developed in Khudi (Jaisalmer) to promote the tourism sector. Under the Shekhawati Haveli Yojana, a provision of Rs. 200 crore had been made for the renovation of more than 660 identified havelis.
High-level committee to examine employees’ demands
On the employees’ welfare front, the CM announced for a high-level committee to look into the issues related to pay scale rationalization and promotion avenues of the employees. Shri Sharma said that the public servants had an important role to play in providing the benefits of welfare schemes and good governance to the people of the state. “Our government is sensitive to the interests of the personnel and pensioners. So, we will form this committee. “This committee will study and make recommendations by comparative study and analysis of various demands related to revision of pay scales. This committee will also give recommendations to the state government after examining the Eighth Pay Commission report,” he added.
On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari, Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Premchand Bairwa, Additional Chief Secretary, Chief Minister’s Office, Mr. Akhil Arora, Principal Secretary, Finance, Mr. Vaibhav Galaria and other senior officers were present.
