Rajasthan Records Strong Growth in Own Tax Revenue Under CM Bhajanlal Sharma
Jaipur, February 2026 : Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, Rajasthan has set new benchmarks in efficient financial management, with the state’s own tax revenue registering sustained and significant growth.
According to the Income–Expenditure Study 2026–27, Rajasthan’s own tax revenue stood at ₹87,347 crore in 2022–23. This increased by 7.72 percent to ₹94,086 crore in 2023–24. The upward trend continued in 2024–25, when revenue rose by 9.80 percent to ₹1,03,310 crore.
The growth accelerated further in 2025–26, with revised estimates showing a sharp 34.10 percent increase, taking the state’s own tax revenue to ₹1,38,540 crore compared to the previous year. For the financial year 2026–27, the budget estimate has set a target of ₹1,62,668 crore in own tax revenue, which is about 17.41 percent higher than the revised figures of the previous year. This projected figure represents an estimated increase of around 72.9 percent compared to the revenue recorded in 2023–24.
Officials attribute this consistent rise to disciplined tax administration, greater emphasis on digitisation, and continuous systemic reforms implemented under the Chief Minister’s leadership. Improved performance in major revenue heads such as State Goods and Services Tax (SGST), state excise, stamp and registration duties, land revenue, and sales tax has played a key role in strengthening the state’s financial position.
The steady growth in Rajasthan’s own tax revenue is expected to provide strong support for the expansion of infrastructure, social security measures, and welfare schemes across the state. It will also enable higher investment in core infrastructure sectors, further reinforcing economic development and public service delivery.
The state government believes that this robust revenue performance reflects sound fiscal management and will help ensure long-term financial stability while sustaining inclusive growth and welfare-oriented governance.
