Major Milestone in Infrastructure Strengthening through the Efforts of Minister Smt. Laxmi Rajwade

Raipur, February 2026 : In line with the state government’s welfare-oriented and development-focused policies, a significant achievement has been recorded toward strengthening basic infrastructure in the region. Through the special efforts of Women and Child Development and Social Welfare Minister and Bhatgaon MLA, Smt. Laxmi Rajwade, administrative approval has been granted for road strengthening and construction works on various stretches of the Kalyanpur–Latori–Datima–Salka (Main District Road) in Surajpur district.

An amount of ₹40.93 crore has been sanctioned for the proposed project, which will cover a total length of approximately 29 kilometres. This road serves as a major connecting route for several villages in the area. Its upgradation will make travel more convenient, safer, and faster, while also improving connectivity between rural regions, the district headquarters, and other key locations.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister Smt. Laxmi Rajwade said that roads are not merely a means of transport but the lifeline of development. Improved road connectivity will help farmers transport their produce to markets on time, ensure easier access to educational institutions for students, and enable faster reach to emergency health services. In addition, it will promote trade, small industries, and generate local employment opportunities.

She further stated that the state government is working with a commitment to good governance, transparency, and inclusive development. Strengthening rural areas through infrastructure development remains a top priority of the government. With this objective, the expansion of roads, education, healthcare, and other basic facilities is being carried out in a phased manner.
