Loknete Shamrao Peje Engineering College Memorial to Inspire Youth – Chief Minister Eknath Shinde

Ratnagiri : Chief Minister Eknath Shinde stated that the People’s Leader Shamrao Peje Government Engineering College will serve as a living memorial, inspiring and energizing the youth.

He made these remarks during the inauguration of the Government Engineering College in Ratnagiri and the naming ceremony of the institution after People’s Leader Shamrao Peje.

Guardian Minister Uday Samant, MLA Shekhar Nikam, Ravindra Phatak, Collector M. Devender Singh, District Superintendent of Police Dhananjay Kulkarni, Chief Executive Officer Kirti Kiran Pujar, and other dignitaries were in attendance.

Chief Minister Shinde emphasized the government’s commitment to empowering students with the knowledge and skills necessary to stand on their own. He highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of making India a superpower by 2047, stressing the importance of equipping young people with the skills needed to achieve their dreams. Maharashtra, he noted, offers a conducive environment for industry, supported by a skilled workforce.

The ‘Chief Minister Majhi Ladki Baheen’ scheme and the Chief Minister’s Youth Training Scheme are both receiving significant responses. Graduates receive a monthly stipend of ten thousand rupees under the latter scheme. The state government is actively implementing various schemes to benefit all segments of society. A recent agreement with the German government will create four lakh employment opportunities across twenty sectors, providing jobs for many youths. Additionally, drone technology will be introduced in 2,000 colleges under the Parispersash scheme, further enhancing job opportunities.

In recent years, significant investments have poured into Maharashtra. At the Davos conference, investment agreements totaling Rs 1.37 lakh crore in the first year and Rs 3.50 lakh crore in the second year were signed. The state has attracted Rs 5 lakh crore in investments, thanks to a favorable industrial environment and streamlined facilities provided under the single-window scheme. The local youth are also being equipped with the necessary skills to meet the demands of these industries. An investment project worth Rs 10,000 crore for manufacturing defense materials is coming to Ratnagiri district, and a few months ago, Coca-Cola performed Bhoomi Pujan. The Chief Minister noted that a conducive environment has been created to accelerate industrialization.

Guardian Minister Shri. Samant expressed his satisfaction with the realization of his two-year-old dream of making Ratnagiri an educational hub, made possible by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. Within this period, the groundwork was laid, and the construction was completed. As a dynamic government, various projects have been initiated in the district, including the allocation of Rs 500 crores for a Medical College and Rs 250 crores for an Engineering College, making the educational hub dream a reality. Nirman Group’s efforts have resulted in the construction of an impressive building modeled after IITs. A Government Law College is also set to open next year. Furthermore, 319 children in the district have gained employment under the Chief Minister’s Student Training Scheme.

During the program, Vikas Page and his colleagues felicitated the Chief Minister, while the Kunbi community, represented by Chief Minister’s special representative Sanjay Ziman, also honored him. Members of the Nirman Group were felicitated by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.

The program began with an introduction by Technical Education Joint Director Pramod Naik and concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. Sunil Patil. The event was well-attended by students and young people.
