“Safai Apnaa Bimaari Bhagao” (SABB) Campaign Continues in Lawngtlai
Lawngtlai : The Urban Development & Poverty Alleviation (UD&PA) Department, Lawngtlai, is actively continuing the “Safai Apnaa Bimaari Bhagao” (SABB) Campaign. This campaign is scheduled to run from 15th July to 31st August 2024.

Under the Safai Apnaa Bimaari Bhagao (SABB) Campaign, various activities are being undertaken to ensure cleanliness and hygiene in Lawngtlai town. The ongoing efforts include:
- Cleanliness Drives in Schools: Schools across Lawngtlai District, along with students and teachers, are actively participating in cleanliness drives, ensuring that the school premises and compounds are kept clean.
- Awareness Campaigns: The UD&PA Department, Health & Family Welfare Department, and PHED, Lawngtlai, are conducting awareness campaigns in various schools and Anganwadi Centres. These campaigns focus on the ‘Stop Diarrhoea Campaign,’ promoting cleanliness, hygiene, and safe drinking water. Regular checks are being conducted to ensure clean and unsafe water sources are identified and addressed.
- Community Cleanliness Initiatives: Different localities in Lawngtlai town are organizing community cleaning drives, ensuring that their areas are kept clean on a regular basis.
- Helipad and Prayer Mount Cleaning: The Lawngtlai-III Village Council and YLA are conducting cleaning drives at the Helipad and Prayer Mount, clearing the areas of weeds and plastic waste.
- Garbage Clearing at KMMTTP Road: Garbage accumulation points along KMMTTP Road are being cleared using JCB machines. The NSS, Government Region Higher Secondary School (GRHSS), Sanitation Department (LADC), and UD&PA Department are collectively cleaning the road and removing plastic waste.
- Signage Installation: The UD&PA, Sanitation Department (LADC), and NSS, Government Region Higher Secondary School (GRHSS) are installing signs at vulnerable garbage points along KMMTTP Road to prevent further littering.
As part of the Safai Apnaa Bimaari Bhagao (SABB) campaign, the Urban Development & Poverty Alleviation (UD&PA) Department has issued a public notice urging all residents of Lawngtlai to take care of their surroundings and ensure that garbage is disposed of properly. The Sanitation Department, LADC, has set up designated garbage disposal sites along KMMTTP Road, and residents are encouraged to use these facilities to keep Lawngtlai clean.
