Israel Continues Attacks On Lebanon Citing It Is Non Inclusive In The Cease Fire.

Beirut; April 2026: The world leaders have unifiedly lauded the “Two-Weeks” cease fire agreed upon by the United States, and Iran, wherein, Israel-US would refrain from pursuing any kind of assault on Iran, and Iran would restore the sea passage through the Strait Of Hormuz. However, Israel has not refrained from continuing their attacks on Lebanon – citing it to be non-inclusive in the cease fire agreed upon.

Volker Türk, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights has reiterated: “I hope fervently the announcement of a ceasefire by United States and Iran will bring relief to all civilians who have suffered now for weeks and remain at great risk. I urge all parties to act in good faith and to ensure this first step translates into a comprehensive agreement. It is also crucial to end the pain and suffering brought by the war in Lebanon. A lasting regional peace, protecting human rights & respecting international law, is essential”.

Meanwhile, the World Health Organization has flagged that 01 in every 05 person in Lebanon is displaced, with estimates that nearly 13,500 pregnant women are among the more than 1.1 million people who have been displaced by the crisis.

UNHRC, Lebanon has condemned the recent waves of attacks on Beirut, which according to them is one of the largest waves of Israeli strikes so far has just hit over 60 locations across Beirut and beyond. Deaths are mounting. Destruction is massive. Civilians are paying the price. Again. They are not a target. They must be protected.

Meanwhile, the Un Coordinator for Lebanon, Jeanine Hennis has called for the implications of Resolution 1701. She has asserted that: “Today’s wave of IDF strikes came just as hopes for an end to violence and destruction were rising. This cannot go on. Neither side can shoot or strike their way to victory. Now is the time for a halt to all hostilities, direct talks and a clear roadmap based on resolution 1701”.
