Raipur, April 2026 : Under the leadership of Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma, Kabirdham District Hospital has transformed its image
The district hospital of Kabirdham is now not just a government health center, but has become a strong symbol of public trust and better medical services. In the past few years, the remarkable improvement in health facilities here has not only increased people’s confidence but has also established it as a strong alternative to private hospitals.
Due to the continuous efforts, guidance, and active initiatives of the Deputy Chief Minister, expansion of resources, availability of new machines, and improvement in systems have been made possible in the hospital. Compared to 2023, by 2025, a significant increase has been recorded in almost every major health service, reflecting positive changes in the hospital’s functioning, resources, and quality of services.
Record increase in OPD and IPD
From January 2023 to December 2023, the number of patients in OPD was 119,557, whereas between January 2025 and December 2025, this number increased to 164,712. This is an increase of more than 45,000, indicating that people are now showing greater trust in district hospital services.
Similarly, an increase has also been seen in IPD figures. In 2023, 11,742 patients were admitted, while in 2025 this number increased to 13,253. This shows that people are now preferring the district hospital over private hospitals even for serious illnesses.
Improvement in maternity services
The district hospital has also made notable progress in women and child health services. In 2023, there were 3,001 deliveries, which increased to 3,925 in 2025. This indicates that maternity services have become safer, more reliable, and more accessible.
Revolutionary change in sonography services
One of the biggest achievements of the district hospital is the improvement in sonography services. In 2023, only 874 sonographies were conducted, whereas in 2025 this number increased to 7,244. This nearly eightfold increase reflects not only the availability of equipment but also better arrangements of specialist doctors and technicians. This achievement has proved to be a milestone for the hospital.
Increase in X-ray, CT scan, and lab tests
Under X-ray services, 9,865 X-rays were conducted in 2023, while in 2025 this number increased to 13,920, showing improvement in both availability and quality of diagnostic services. Lab test figures are also impressive. In 2023, 210,186 tests were conducted, which increased to 362,113 in 2025—about one and a half times growth. Additionally, since July 2025, 1,462 CT scans have been conducted, indicating the availability of modern diagnostic facilities and faster services.
Increase in cataract surgeries
In the field of eye care, the district hospital has also strengthened its position. Compared to 2023, 216 more cataract surgeries were performed in 2025, indicating better and accessible treatment for eye patients.
Better facilities through continuous efforts of the Deputy Chief Minister
Due to the efforts, guidance, and active initiatives of Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma, expansion of resources, availability of new machines, and system improvements have been possible. He focused not only on strengthening infrastructure but also ensured timely and quality treatment for patients. Expansion and improvement of health services have always been his top priority.
Role of doctors and staff
The dedication of doctors and staff at the district hospital is an important part of this success story. By making better use of resources, they have fulfilled their responsibilities with full commitment and sincerity. The promptness of doctors, care of nursing staff, and efficiency of other employees have together completely transformed the hospital’s image.
Better resources available in the hospital
Due to better services, modern equipment, experienced doctors, and improved resources, free and better treatment is being provided, making it a major relief for poor and middle-class people. This has not only reduced their financial burden but also provided them access to high-quality healthcare within their own district.
Future prospects
The success of Kabirdham District Hospital is not limited to the present but is laying a strong foundation for the future. The use of new technologies, appointment of specialist doctors, and expansion of better facilities for patients are important steps in this direction. The hospital’s progress is not limited to numbers but reflects trust, better treatment, and the hard work of its staff.
The hospital is performing better in every area—OPD, IPD, deliveries, sonography, X-ray, CT scan, lab tests, and surgeries. It has become a lifeline not only for the people of Kabirdham district but also for residents of neighboring districts like Dindori and Mandla in Madhya Pradesh.
