₹1 Lakh for Land Purchase Under Atal Prakshatra Kamgar Awas Yojana – DCM Fadnavis
Mumbai : Various schemes are implemented for construction workers through the Construction Workers Board. Under the Atal Prakshatra Kamgar Awas Yojana, financial assistance of ₹50,000 is provided to workers who do not own land to help them purchase it. Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced that this financial assistance will be increased to ₹1 lakh. The announcement was made during a meeting held at the Sahyadri Guest House, attended by MLA Chandrasekhar Bawankule and MLA Ashish Jaiswal.
Labor Minister Suresh Khade participated in the meeting via video communication. Present at the meeting were MLA Chandrasekhar Bawankule, MLA Ashish Jaiswal, Additional Chief Secretary (Planning) Rajagopal Deora, Additional Chief Secretary (Energy) Abha Shukla, Principal Secretary of the Labor Department Vinita Ved Singhal, Principal Secretary of the Urban Development Department Asim Kumar Gupta, Secretary of the Rural Development Department Eknath Dawle, Secretary of Women and Child Development Dr. Anup Kumar Yadav, Deputy Chief Minister’s Secretary Dr. Shrikar Pardeshi, Secretary of the Tribal Development Department Vijay Waghmare, Secretary of the Tourism Department Jayashree Bhoj, City Planner Pratibha Bhadane, among others.
Deputy Chief Minister Fadnavis emphasized that while roads, drains, and lighting systems are funded from the reserve fund for scheduled castes and tribes in district planning, these works are being duplicated. Instead, providing solar power sets to eligible beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Saur Ghar Yojana would offer a permanent solution to electricity costs. He also proposed that Zilla Parishad and state-level systems should be funded from the District Planning Fund for Scheduled Caste Schemes.
Deputy Chief Minister Fadnavis suggested that tribal villages be fenced to protect them from wild animals, with the condition of public participation being waived. He called for a comprehensive government decision to expedite the construction of Pandan roads and proposed that technical approval powers for works under the Manav Vikas Nidhi fund be delegated to the Collector. Similarly, technical approval for proposals related to the District Planning Fund of the Women and Child Development Department should be given at the district level. He also advocated for the regularization of land leases for beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and other beneficiaries under the Ghara for All initiative.
Additionally, he instructed that all worker-related schemes, application acceptance, and the 90-day certification process for construction workers be processed through the Worker Facilitation Centers established in each taluka. The meeting also discussed increasing the number of households under the Modi Awas Yojana in Nagpur district, the role of the committee chaired by the guardian minister for implementing the Modi Awas Yojana, and including essential items as per the needs of workers.
Officials from the relevant departments were present at the meeting.
