Birth Registration Based Aadhaar Enrolment Rolled Out in Mizoram

Aizawl : The Birth Registration Based Aadhaar Enrolment (BRBAE) system has been launched in Mizoram. This initiative facilitates Aadhaar enrolment for children aged 0-5 years, based on their birth registration. The National Health Mission Mizoram rolled out this service on 2nd October 2024. Enrolling for Baal Aadhaar (for children 0-5 years) has been simplified through the automatic retrieval of data using the Birth Registration Number from the Civil Registration System (CRS) portal. Now, only the child’s birth certificate and the Aadhaar number of either parent are required for enrolment.

To ensure widespread access across districts, the National Health Mission, Mizoram, has been enlisted by UIDAI as a Registrar-cum-Enrolment Agency to carry out child enrolments using the BRBAE process.

UIDAI has been continuously supporting states by conducting workshops, door-to-door enrolments, and visiting the most remote areas to help people access the benefits of the Aadhaar ecosystem. UIDAI’s Regional Office in Guwahati has been working closely with the General Administration Department, Government of Mizoram, which serves as the Nodal Department for Aadhaar-related activities in the state.
