UD&PA Minister Inaugurates DAY-NULM Exhibition-cum-Food Festival
Aizawl : The Minister for Urban Development & Poverty Alleviation (UD&PA), Pu K. Sapdanga, inaugurated the DAY-NULM Exhibition-cum-Food Festival today at Aijal Club Park, Aizawl. The three-day festival, organized by the UD&PA Department, will run until 26th October 2024.
In his inaugural address, the UD&PA Minister expressed his hope that more people would benefit from the DAY-NULM initiative. He praised the successful beneficiaries, especially the Self-Help Groups (SHGs), for their dedication and commended the efforts of the UD&PA Department’s officials and staff.
The inaugural ceremony was chaired by Pu Malsawma Pachuau, Secretary of UD&PA. Dr. Andrew H. Vanlaldika, Director of UD&PA and Mission Director of DAY-NULM, presented a report on the festival, highlighting that 10,733 individuals had been trained and certified under the mission so far. The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks from Pu Andrew Lalhruaia, Joint Director of UD&PA and Project Director of DAY-NULM.
Beneficiaries of the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Urban Livelihoods Mission set up stalls to showcase their products, with a total of 25 stalls, including six in the designated food court. A play area for children was also provided.
