Voter Turnout Will Increase with Active Participation of Voters – District Collector Saurabh Katiyar Tiranga Maharally for Voter Awareness in Amravati
Amravati : Under the SWEEP initiative, a Tiranga Maharally was organized today in Amravati for voter awareness with the support of the district administration, municipal corporation, and various organizations and associations.
The inaugural ceremony at Nehru Ground was attended by District Collector Saurabh Katiyar, Chief Executive Officer Sanjita Mahapatra, Municipal Commissioner Sachin Kalantre, Police Commissioner Naveenchandra Reddy, and others.
The dignitaries flagged off the rally. The rally proceeded through Rajkamal, Jaystambh, Irwin Chowk and concluded at the Regional Sports Complex.
At the conclusion, District Collector Mr. Katiyar said, “The Maharally was excellently organized, with participation from all citizens. During the Lok Sabha elections, voter turnout increased due to active participation. However, voting in urban areas is lower, so reaching out to them and raising awareness is crucial. If the message of voting reaches them, voter turnout will definitely increase. Therefore, I urge every citizen to consider it their duty and vote.”
Mr. Kalantre emphasized that the rally was conducted to raise voter awareness. Various groups participated spontaneously, making the initiative successful.
At the start of the program, primary schools from Rahatgaon and Pragati Vidyalaya, Rahatgaon, performed street plays, delivering the message of voter awareness. Afterward, the dignitaries took the voter’s pledge. To further raise awareness, the dignitaries released balloons into the air.
A human chain was formed at the Regional Sports Complex, sending the message “Go Vote.” A street play was also performed by the municipal school students, and the message “Go Vote” was symbolized with lights. Education Officer Mr. Meshram expressed gratitude.
