Chief Minister Inaugurates 8th North East Mini Jamboree Of Bharat Scouts & Guides

Aizawl, 23rd November 2024: The 8th North East Mini Jamboree of Bharat Scouts & Guides was inaugurated today by Chief Minister Pu Lalduhoma, who also serves as the President of Mizoram Bharat Scouts & Guides, at the State Training Centre in Tanhril.

In his address, the Chief Minister expressed gratitude to all participants and encouraged them to meaningfully engage in the event, fostering stronger bonds. He emphasized that despite linguistic and cultural differences, unity and mutual understanding are essential for national progress, reflecting the mission of Bharat Scouts & Guides to build a better India. Drawing inspiration from Lord Baden-Powell, the founder of the Scouts & Guides movement, he urged participants to embrace the spirit of service, quoting, “True happiness is to bring happiness to others.” He also commended Mizoram Bharat Scouts & Guides for organizing the event successfully.

Dr. KK Khandelwal, IAS (Retd.), Chief National Commissioner, expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for his unwavering support and announced that Pu Lalduhoma would soon receive the prestigious Silver Elephant Award, the highest national recognition in Bharat Scouts & Guides. The award, usually conferred by the President of India, recognizes outstanding contributions and leadership.

The event also featured a welcome speech by Pu H. Lalhmingthanga, Director of Sports & Youth Affairs and Mizoram State Commissioner of Bharat Scouts & Guides, and a keynote address by Pu Amar B. Chettri, Executive Director of Bharat Scouts & Guides.

The Mini Jamboree, hosted in Mizoram for the second time, will run until 28th November. While focused on the North East region, it has attracted around 300 participants from other states across India, offering diverse activities and programs.
