Maharashtra: A State of Infinite Potential, But Don’t Stop – CM Devendra Fadnavis
Separate War Room for Flagship Schemes: Chief Minister’s Announcement
Mumbai : Maharashtra is a state of immense potential. While being ranked number one, we must not pause, advised Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to the state’s senior administrative officials. Stressing the need to build upon past achievements, CM Fadnavis also announced the establishment of a dedicated war room for the state government’s flagship schemes, alongside existing infrastructure project war rooms.
The Chief Minister held a special review meeting with senior officials, including Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, and Secretaries, in the committee hall at Vidhan Bhavan. During the meeting, he outlined the government’s roadmap for the future.
Focusing on transparency, efficiency, and integrity, CM Fadnavis urged the officials to maximize the benefits of cooperation with the Central Government for the state’s progress. He suggested establishing a coordination and follow-up mechanism through Maharashtra Sadan in New Delhi.
While the existing war room focuses on infrastructure projects, CM Fadnavis directed the Chief Secretary to reorganize its structure to enhance its efficiency. Additionally, he announced the formation of a second war room specifically for flagship schemes of the state and central governments, ensuring their benefits reach the public swiftly. Programs like Janata Darbar and Lokshahi Din should be expedited and implemented at the grassroots level. The Aaple Sarkar portal must operate at full capacity again, and guardian secretaries should immediately start visiting their respective districts. They should leverage their experience to benefit the districts and ensure that various departmental portals are updated and made more effective, enabling citizens to access maximum services from home. CM Fadnavis also announced that departments excelling in this endeavor would be honored in cabinet meetings.
The Chief Minister emphasized making all government websites RTI-friendly and focusing on improving “ease of living.” He suggested identifying the most common reasons for citizens visiting government offices and finding ways to deliver those services to them at home. A plan with six-month goals could be implemented in two phases. To achieve this, the state could utilize the expertise of retired officials by forming a committee to draft a detailed report.
CM Fadnavis also directed priority attention to employee grievances, encouraging direct interaction between employees and secretaries to resolve issues promptly. He emphasized the importance of organizing training programs for newly appointed employees before assigning them to their respective districts, making their work easier.
Stressing the use of technology to enhance administrative functions and citizen services, CM Fadnavis instructed each department to prepare and present a 100-day action plan. This, he said, would further streamline operations and ensure efficient delivery of services to the people of Maharashtra.
