Tamil Nadu CM M.K. Stalin Inaugurates ₹66 Lakh Commercial and Vegetable Market, Small Theatre in Tiruchirappalli

Tiruchirappalli : The Tiruchirappalli Municipal Corporation and the Drinking Water Supply Department have successfully completed the construction of a commercial and vegetable market at Mahatma Gandhi Dinari Market and a small theatre complex near Town Nainar Pond, at a total cost of ₹66 lakh. Hon’ble Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Shri M.K. Stalin inaugurated these projects today.

During his visit to Gandhi Dinari Market in Tiruchirappalli, CM Stalin inaugurated a newly constructed market hall and vegetable market built at a cost of ₹40 lakh, as well as the renovated Vidhalayattu Arena, which has been upgraded at a cost of ₹26 lakh. The completion of these projects is part of the government’s broader urban infrastructure development initiatives aimed at improving the living standards of the people and providing better facilities for their livelihoods.

The Government of Tamil Nadu has undertaken several infrastructure projects, including drinking water supply schemes, sewage system improvements, housing projects for urban areas, and the development of parks and gardens. Under the Tiruchirappalli Municipal Corporation’s Smart City Project, the following works have been completed:

  • Commercial building at Mahatma Gandhi Dinari Market – ₹1.02 crore
  • Development works at Mahatma Gandhi Dinari Market – ₹1.49 crore
  • Renovation works at Mahatma Gandhi Dinari Market – ₹1.49 crore
  • Construction of a small theatre near Town Bharathiar School – ₹1.49 crore
  • Development of Town Nainar Pond – ₹1.13 crore

CM Stalin also inaugurated a project worth ₹4 lakh as part of the broader development initiatives.

The event was attended by Hon’ble Water Resources Minister Mr. Duraimurugan, Municipal Commissioner Mr. V.K.N. Vanaru, State Government Member Mr. C. Robert Bruce, Municipal Council Members Mr. M. Abdul Kaab, Mr. Ruby R. Manoharan, Mr. Nainar Nagakanthran, Former Governor of Tamil Nadu Mr. R.A. Auradayappan, Tiruchirappalli Municipal Corporation Mayor Mr. K.A. Ramakrishnan, and other senior government officials. Representatives from local organizations also participated in the ceremony.
