Launch of Various Health Initiatives on World Health Day Maharashtra Health Honour Ceremony – 2025 to Be Held
Mumbai : On the occasion of World Health Day, the Maharashtra Health Honour Ceremony – 2025 and the launch of various new health service schemes will take place tomorrow, April 7, at the Yashwantrao Chavan Centre, Nariman Point, Mumbai. The program will be held in the presence of Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar.
The event will also be attended by Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Adv. Rahul Narwekar, Chairman of the Legislative Council Prof. Ram Shinde, Skill and Employment Minister Mangalprabhat Lodha, Cultural Affairs and IT Minister Adv. Ashish Shelar, Public Health Minister Prakash Ambitkar, Minister of State Meghna Sakore-Bordikar, along with Public Health Department Secretaries Dr. Nipun Vinayak and Virendra Singh, Health Services Commissioner and Director of the National Urban Health Mission Mumbai Amgoth Ranga Nayak, CEO of the State Employee Insurance Scheme Astikkumar Pandey, CEO of the State Health Assurance Society Annasaheb Chavan, Director of Mumbai Health Services Dr. Nitin Ambadekar, and Director of the National Urban Health Mission Dr. Swapnil Lale, among others, including local public representatives.
Aligned with the World Health Organization’s slogan “Health for All, Hope for the Future,” the Public Health Department is committed to delivering more transparent, faster, efficient, and high-quality health services to the citizens of the state through the use of advanced technology. To achieve this, the department is launching several new health initiatives. On this occasion, institutions that have made notable contributions in the health sector will be honored with the Maharashtra Health Honour Awards.
The following health services will be inaugurated:
- Expansion of the e-Sushrut (HMIS System) web platform.
- Launch of online certification distribution under the Maharashtra Nursing Home Registration System (as per the Bombay Nursing Home Act).
- Inauguration of Dialysis Units at six health institutions across six districts.
- Launch of online monitoring and tracking software for the construction of health institutions in the state.
- Launch of a Cervical Cancer Awareness Campaign (for girls aged 9 to 14) – promoting awareness and implementing effective preventive measures.
- Extension of the Mahatma Jyotirao Phule Jan Arogya Yojana to hospitals under the Maharashtra State Employee Insurance Society – now accessible to the general public as well as workers.
- Launch and live demonstration of CPR training across Maharashtra.
- Inauguration of the Health Services Monitoring System.
- Presentation of the Maharashtra Health Honour 2025 Awards, recognizing outstanding work in the health services sector.
