Inspection of Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Memorial at Indu Mill by Minister of State Madhuri Misal

Mumbai : Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar’s life and work continue to inspire and energize the youth. To effectively pass on his social and educational contributions to future generations, modern technology should be integrated into the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Memorial, said Minister of State for Social Justice Madhuri Misal.

Ms. Misal personally inspected the ongoing work at the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Memorial at Indu Mill and reviewed the progress. She also paid homage at Chaityabhoomi, the memorial site of Dr. Ambedkar.

Present during the visit were MLA Bhai Girkar, Deputy Secretary Somnath Bagul, Joint Commissioner Prasad Khairnar, Executive Engineer Pradeep Ahire, Corporator Samita Kamble, former corporator Sharad Kamble, Rahul Kamble, Ashok Kamble, as well as officials from the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA), Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), Department of Social Justice, and other public representatives.

Minister Misal emphasized the use of digital technologies such as audio-visual mediums, interactive displays, laser shows, and other modern tools to effectively present Dr. Ambedkar’s social and educational legacy at the memorial. She also called for studying national and international memorials to learn how history can be communicated effectively to global tourists.

She instructed officials to focus on proper pathways, cleanliness, and security arrangements at the memorial. Electrical and electronic works should be carried out simultaneously, phase-wise, to expedite completion. She stressed the importance of maintaining cleanliness and safety in the various facilities being developed, including the auditorium, library, conference hall, and Vipassana center.

Minister Misal further directed the committee, chaired by the Secretary, to make necessary decisions regarding maintenance and repairs. She also held discussions with committee members, executive engineers, and relevant officials to assess the current status and suggested improvements wherever needed.
