Yogi govt launches major road infrastructure drive across UP, Rs 250 crore allocated for revamp of 150 roads in 54 districts
Lucknow : In a major push to boost infrastructure, the Yogi Adityanath-led government has launched an extensive road development drive across 54 districts of Uttar Pradesh. As part of the initiative, 150 key roads will be reconstructed, upgraded, and widened at an estimated cost of Rs 250 crore.
Additionally, 255 roads across 44 districts will undergo special repairs at an estimated cost of Rs 79 crore. The entire project, aimed at enhancing road connectivity and ensuring smoother transportation, will be executed under the State Road Fund. The Public Works Department (PWD) has been tasked with implementation, and official instructions have already been issued to the Chief Engineer (Development) and the Head of Department.
The 54 districts where roads will be rebuilt, strengthened, and widened include major urban and rural regions, such as Lucknow, Ayodhya, Prayagraj, Barabanki, Raebareli, Sitapur, Gonda, Bahraich, Shravasti, Balrampur, Azamgarh, Ballia, Hardoi, Fatehpur, Pratapgarh, Shahjahanpur, Gorakhpur, Maharajganj, Kushinagar, Deoria, Mirzapur, Aligarh, Saharanpur, Muzaffarnagar, Shamli, Lakhimpur Kheri, Unnao, Ghazipur, Chandauli, Jaunpur, Kanpur Nagar, Kanpur Dehat, Agra, Mainpuri, Sant Kabir Nagar, Siddharthnagar, Basti, Baghpat, Bulandshahr, Meerut, Hapur, Bijnor, Rampur, Bareilly, Hathras, Firozabad, Banda, Mahoba, Lalitpur, Fatehgarh, Etawah, Moradabad, Auraiya and Jalaun.
Along with this, special repairs will be carried out on 255 roads in 44 districts at a cost of Rs 79 crore. These districts include Farrukhabad, Etawah, Kanpur Dehat, Chandauli, Kasganj, Meerut, Bijnor, Unnao, Kannauj, Badaun, Lakhimpur Kheri, Sitapur, Hardoi, Raebareli, Fatehgarh, Kanpur Nagar, Lalitpur, Ghazipur, Jalaun, Jhansi, Sultanpur, Amethi, Kaushambi, Shahjahanpur, Gorakhpur, Aligarh, Etah, Saharanpur, Muzaffarnagar, Bareilly, Fatehpur, Pratapgarh, Prayagraj, Bhadohi, Sonbhadra, Agra, Baghpat, Ghaziabad, Bulandshahr, Rampur, Banda, Chitrakoot, Firozabad, Moradabad.
The Yogi government is working under the State Road Fund on various projects to improve the quality of roads in both urban and rural areas of the state. Some roads will be completely rebuilt, while others will be strengthened and widened to improve traffic flow.
The goal of the government is to connect every part of the state with a high-quality road network. From Purvanchal (eastern UP) to western UP, roads are being developed on a large scale. This will not only make travel easier but also speed up local development.
