“Minister Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil Guarantees Price Stability and Subsidy Assurance”
Mumbai : In efforts to reassure dairy farmers, the government is actively considering offering a milk price of thirty rupees starting from 1st July 2024. Additionally, a subsidy of five rupees will also be provided. Minister of Dairy Development and Fisheries Development, Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil, highlighted that this benefit will effectively reach dairy producers. A meeting was held at the Ministry regarding concerns raised by dairy producers and the Dairy Federation. During the meeting, Mr. Vikhe Patil addressed the attendees. Present were MLAs Haribhau Bagde, Suresh Dhas, Sadabhau Khot, Satyajit Tambe, Ravi Patil, Mahendra Thorve, Additional Chief Secretary Rajesh Kumar, representatives from various Dairy Federations, as well as representatives of dairy farmers, alongside officials from the Revenue, Dairy Development, and Fisheries Development Departments.
Minister of Dairy Development, Mr. Vikhe Patil, stated that the government is deeply concerned about the issues faced by dairy farmers. Compared to other states and dairy institutions, this rate is higher. In consideration of farmers’ interests, the government has taken decisions with careful deliberation. Cooperative dairy producer associations and private dairy businesses are urged to take necessary actions for pricing as per the decisions made. Mr. Vikhe Patil emphasized the need for dairy producers to gather information through digital systems to timely receive subsidies, communicate dairy pricing concerns to the central government, and discuss the export of dairy powder in the context of price stability. Various representatives expressed their opinions at this time.
