Review Meeting of Urban Governance Department Held: Secretary Instructs Officials to Effectively Implement Future Action Plans
Jaipur : On Tuesday, Secretary of the Department of Autonomous Governance, Mr. Ravi Jain, chaired a review meeting with departmental officials at the headquarters auditorium. During the session, he reviewed various schemes and departmental functions and issued key directions to ensure the effective implementation of future action plans.
Mr. Jain emphasized that officials must ensure on-ground execution of urban-focused schemes such as the Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban), AMRUT (Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation), Annapurna Rasoi Yojana, urban sanitation, waste management, drainage cleaning, and Smart City projects. He also called for enhancing the efficiency of urban local bodies, promoting transparency, and strengthening public participation.
During the meeting, feedback was gathered on major urban challenges, including solid waste management, urban flooding, systematic operation of street vendor zones, revenue enhancement, and the expansion of e-governance in urban bodies. Mr. Jain underlined that the primary goal of the department must be to ensure that the benefits of government schemes reach the common people directly.
He further directed officials to make public grievance redressal mechanisms more responsive and robust across all urban local bodies and ensure the timely delivery of services. Stressing the need for modern technology and transparency, he stated that these are the foundations of good governance.
The meeting was also attended by Mr. Indrajit Singh, Director of the Department; Mr. Shyam Singh, Additional Director; the Chief Engineer, and other senior officials.
