106 Police Officers and Personnel Awarded Police Medals by the Governor
Mumbai – A total of 106 police officers and personnel from the state were ceremoniously awarded the Police Gallantry Medal, the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service, and the Police Medal for Meritorious Service by Governor C. P. Radhakrishnan.
The medal conferment ceremony was held at the Durbar Hall of Raj Bhavan, Mumbai, where the medals announced on Independence Day 2022 and 2023 and Republic Day 2023 and 2024 were presented.
During the ceremony, 64 police officers and personnel were honored with the Police Gallantry Medal, while four officers and personnel received the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service. Additionally, 38 police officers and personnel were awarded Police Medals for Meritorious Service.
The ceremony was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Minister of State for Home (Urban) Yogesh Kadam, Director General of Police Rashmi Shukla, police officers, retired police officers, and the families of the honored personnel.
Among those receiving the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service were Principal Secretary (Special) Anup Kumar Singh, retired Assistant Police Inspector Sambhaji Deshmukh from the State Intelligence Department, and retired Police Sub-Inspector Deepak Jadhav, who served in the Thane City Police Commissionerate.
