Pankaja Munde Inaugurates Super Specialty Animal Ambulance in Mumbai
Mumbai : Maharashtra’s Minister for Environment, Climate Change, and Animal Husbandry, Pankaja Munde, inaugurated a state-of-the-art super specialty animal ambulance under the ‘Arham Anukampa Project’ of the organization Samasta Mahajan. The ambulance is dedicated to serving cows (Gomata) and other animals across Mumbai and its suburban areas.
Present at the inauguration ceremony were the organization’s Managing Trustee Girish Shah, Trustee Paresh Shah, and a large number of members from the Jain community. The technologically advanced ambulance will provide medical aid to injured and ailing animals, particularly cows, in the regions of Mumbai, Thane, and Palghar.
This specially designed hydraulic ambulance will play a crucial role in transporting sick and injured animals from various gaushalas (cow shelters) to veterinary hospitals. Minister Munde emphasized the significance of this initiative, noting that it reflects a compassionate step towards alleviating animal suffering. She expressed hope that this service would expand further in the future, remaining rooted in the mission of animal welfare.
Samasta Mahajan has been actively engaged for several years in the fields of animal welfare, environmental conservation, and community service. The organization regularly conducts free veterinary camps, food distribution for animals, tree plantation drives, and provides assistance during natural disasters. Over the past 36 months, the organization has treated more than 92,500 injured animals, including cows, under its compassionate service programs.
