Modern Cameras to Be Installed Using RTID Fund — One-Way Traffic System to Be Developed with Public and Traders’ Suggestions

Jaipur, Aug 25: Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma has instructed officials to take immediate steps to streamline and ease Jaipur city’s traffic situation. He emphasized the need for a long-term, future-oriented traffic management plan through joint efforts by the Home and Traffic Department, Jaipur Development Authority (JDA), Urban Development and Housing, and Local Self-Government Department.

Chairing a high-level meeting at the Chief Minister’s residence regarding traffic systems in major cities, especially Jaipur, CM Sharma directed police and traffic officials to create awareness among citizens and promote traffic sense through strict adherence to rules.

Shift Identified Bus Stands and Implement One-Way Traffic on Busy Routes

To ease traffic congestion, the Chief Minister instructed officials to gather suggestions from traders and citizens for implementing one-way traffic systems on the busiest roads. He also ordered the swift relocation of designated auto and bus stands within the city. Additionally, CM Sharma directed that bus operations from the newly developed Heerapura Bus Terminal should commence immediately after the monsoon. He emphasized that JCTSL buses must be arranged to facilitate passenger movement from these relocated bus terminals to various parts of the city.

Develop Multi-Level Parking Facilities in Key Areas

CM Sharma highlighted the need for enhancing the city’s parking infrastructure by developing multi-level parking spaces at strategic locations and promoting their usage. He instructed the JDA to develop a designated yard for impounded e-rickshaws and ensure compliance with the zone-based e-rickshaw operation guidelines.

Install Modern Surveillance Cameras Using RTID Fund

To monitor traffic violations effectively, the Chief Minister directed the installation of advanced surveillance cameras across Jaipur and the establishment of a centralized control room, with funding from the Rajasthan Transport Infrastructure Development Fund (RTID). He stressed the importance of strict enforcement of traffic rules and taking stringent action against violators. Additionally, considering the increasing number of vehicles, CM Sharma directed officials to identify key intersections for future development of signal-free traffic corridors.

Chief Secretary Sudhansh Pant, Director General of Police Rajeev Kumar Sharma, and senior officials from concerned departments were present at the meeting.
