Chief Minister Reviews UD & PA Officials On Thenzawl Peace City Project
Aizawl, Aug 2025: Today, Chief Minister Pu Lalduhoma met with senior officials of the Urban Development & Poverty Alleviation (UD & PA) Department at his office to review the progress of the Thenzawl Peace City Master Plan. The meeting was attended by Pu Vanlaldina Fanai, Commissioner & Secretary to the Chief Minister.
Pu Lalmalsawma Pachuau, Secretary, UD & PA, informed that on July 22, the department had issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the selection of a consultant to prepare the Master Plan, and that more than fifteen major companies had shown interest. He further stated that several international firms also participated in the pre-bid queries session.
According to the schedule, the selection of the consultant is expected to be finalised by September this year, with work likely to commence in October. The government aims to complete the detailed Master Plan within the current financial year.
As previously announced, the government is developing Thenzawl Peace City as a modern, sustainable, inclusive, and well-planned township that can accommodate around 10,000 residents. The Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs (MoHUA) has already sanctioned ₹10 crore for the preparation of the Master Plan.
