Digital Audits seen as key to global threat reduction; CM Yogi’s cyber security initiatives praised at seminar

Lucknow, Aug 2025 : The significance of cybersecurity and digital audits is increasing every day as the world grapples with increasing digital threats. In view of rising challenges, adopting advanced cybersecurity technologies and international technology exchange has a crucial role to play.

A session organised by UPSIFS on digital audit, cyber insurance, security, and legal aspects emphasised the need of the hour, and saw a widespread appreciation for Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s efforts to bolster cyber security in the state.

UPSIFS Additional Director Rajeev Malhotra said, “The Yogi Government has taken a strict stance against cybercrimes. ” He shared information about India’s DPDP Act and policies like GDPR for data protection.

He also emphasised the importance of teamwork and continuous education. In the seminar, the need to integrate continuous learning, practical experience, and ethical clarity in cybersecurity was also underscored.

He stated that there are strong and sustainable career prospects in cybersecurity, digital audit, and cyber insurance, provided that the correct skills, legal knowledge, and practical experience are prioritised. Under the leadership of CM Yogi Adityanath, these efforts have been further strengthened, marking a strong step towards India’s digital security.

At the seminar, a cybersecurity expert from the USA, Pawan Sharma, said that a digital audit acts as a foundation to understand an organisation’s risks. He said that practical knowledge of digital audit and the ability to implement it are essential for cybersecurity today. For cyber insurance, the correct interpretation of audit reports and proper implementation have become a necessity.

A representative from Cisco explained that instead of traditional annual audits, organizations are now conducting continuous, risk-based assessments connected to real-time parameters and compliance frameworks. Along with this, skills like automation and cyber risk modelling have now become important for career growth.

Another representative from Zscaler highlighted the importance of internal upskilling in companies and recommended key certifications such as CompTIA Security+ and CISSP to prove one’s expertise in cybersecurity.

Obtaining these certifications provides youth with the opportunity to reach new heights in their careers. UPSIF’s cybersecurity expert, Dr. Manish Kumar Rai, said that it is necessary to understand the legal, ethical, and technical frameworks in the field of cybersecurity.

Citing situations like ransomware, he explained that security can only be enhanced through continuous assessments. He also emphasized the importance of a global perspective given international cyber threats.
