CM Vishnudev Sai Announces Major Gift : State-of-the-Art Integrated Sports Complex to be Built in Kunkuri

Raipur, Sept 2025 : Under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai, Jashpur district continues to receive new avenues of development. Taking a historic step to recognize and nurture sporting talent, the state government has approved ₹63.84 crore for the construction of an advanced Integrated Sports Complex in Kunkuri. This facility is expected to become a milestone not only for Jashpur but for the entire Surguja division.

With the establishment of this complex, players will have access to national and international level facilities. Young people from rural and tribal regions interested in sports will no longer need to move to big cities for training and competitions. They will now receive quality coaching, competitive platforms, and event opportunities locally. Hidden sports talent from both urban and rural areas will be able to emerge, while new avenues for careers and employment in sports will also open up. Local sports enthusiasts and youth expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister, stating that the complex will strengthen Jashpur’s identity in the field of sports.

The Integrated Sports Complex will be equipped with modern sports infrastructure and amenities, such as:

• An athletics track and pavilion
• Basketball court
• Kabaddi and Kho-Kho grounds
• Modern swimming pool with changing rooms
• Volleyball ground
• Jumping games area
• Advanced sports equipment

These facilities will enable players to receive high-level training and actively participate in large-scale competitions.
