Guardian Minister Jaykumar Gore visits flood-affected villages Khadki and Bitergaon (Shri) in Karmala Taluka; inspects damage

Orders immediate assessment (panchanama) of losses after on-site inspection at flood-hit embankments

Solapur, Sept 2025 : On September 14, excessive rainfall occurred in nine revenue circles of Karmala taluka in Solapur district. In addition, the Sina River flooded, submerging villages including Khadki, Nilaj, Borgav, Tartgav, Bitergaon (Shri), Waghachiwadi, Aljapur, Balewadi, and others, causing extensive damage to standing crops. Maharashtra’s Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister and Guardian Minister of Solapur district, Jaykumar Gore, personally visited the flood-affected areas in Khadki and Bitergaon (Shri) and inspected the damage at the embankments. He directed the administration to immediately conduct damage assessments (panchanamas) and submit reports to the government.

At Khadki, Minister Gore inspected the breached embankment caused by the floodwaters and took details of the losses from affected farmer Shri Lohar. Since the gates of the embankment were closed, water pressure washed away the soil and crops from both sides, severely damaging farmland. The Minister ordered officials to conduct immediate assessments and assured farmers that the government fully stands by them, offering them support and reassurance.

Later, Minister Gore inspected the damage in Bitergaon (Shri), where the main road had been completely washed away by floodwaters. Several women from the village also briefed the Minister about the destruction caused by the floods.

Present during the visit were District Council Additional Chief Executive Officer Sandeep Kohinkar, Sub-Divisional Officer Jayshree Awhad, Tehsildar Shilpa Thokde, Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officer Sanjay Wakde, Taluka Agriculture Officer Rajendra Netke, PWD Engineer Sunita Patil, along with local representatives including Kedar Sawant, Ganesh Chivate, Shashikant Pawar, Jagdish Agrawal, Prof. Ramdas Zol, Suryakant Patil, Kanhaiyalal Devi, Mahesh Chivate, and others.
