RPF Bhagalpur, a unit of Eastern Railways, Malda Division seizes unclaimed Foreign Liquor under “Operation Satark”.

Oct 2025 : Amidst the ongoing festive season, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) of Malda Division under the guidance of Mr. Manish Kumar Gupta, Divisional Railway Manager, Malda and the supervision of Mr. A. K. Kullu, Divisional Security Commissioner of Malda, has intensified checks and preventive drives to curb illegal activities across the division.

As part of this vigilance initiative under “Operation Satark”, RPF Bhagalpur recovered a consignment of unclaimed foreign liquor during a routine round at the combined Platform No. 02/03 of Bhagalpur Railway Station on 30.09.2025 at around 20:15 hours. During the inspection, one red coloured bag, one black coloured backpack, and one white coloured handbag were found lying in an unclaimed condition near the lift towards the Howrah end of the platform.

On thorough checking of these bags, a total of 14 bottles of Imperial Blue foreign liquor (750 ml each) were recovered — 07 bottles from the red bag, 05 bottles from the black bag, and 02 bottles from the white bag. The total estimated market value of the recovered liquor is approximately ₹9,100/–.

All seized liquors were confiscated on the spot following due legal procedures and brought to RPF Post Bhagalpur for safe custody. The Excise Department, Bhagalpur was immediately informed, and after observing all formalities, the seized liquor was handed over to the Excise authorities for further legal action and disposal.

Malda Division remains committed to ensuring safety, security, and lawful conduct within its jurisdiction. RPF teams continue to maintain strict vigilance through regular inspections and intelligence-based drives to curb illegal activities, particularly during the festive season.
