Jaipur, Oct 2025. The Rajasthan Grameen Aajeevika Vikas Parishad (Rajeevika) is organising the Sumangal Diwali Mela at the Indira Gandhi Panchayati Raj Institute campus, Jawahar Lal Nehru Marg, Jaipur. A wide range of traditional clay art and craft products are drawing special attention from visitors at the mela.
The products on display include traditional clay crafts, black pottery, and terracotta items such as flower pots, vases, diya stands, Ganesh wall hangings, tables, fountains, toys, showpieces, curd-setting pots, vegetable cooking handis, coffee and tea cups, tap matkas, and bottles. All these products are eco-friendly and have been crafted using diverse traditional techniques. The variety of clay types and artistic methods showcased at a single platform reflect the rich cultural heritage of Rajasthan while also highlighting the collective enterprise and craftsmanship of SHG women artisans.
Women members of Self-Help Groups (SHGs) from different districts are continuously exhibiting and selling handloom, handicraft, food products, and items made using innovative techniques at the mela. Visitors are showing keen interest in these products.
Dignitaries visiting the mela remarked that such events provide a strong platform for women artisans to market their products and receive fair value for their craft. They appreciated the enthusiastic response of visitors towards rural products and noted that such initiatives play a significant role in connecting rural women entrepreneurs to wider markets.
Adding to the festive atmosphere, a food court featuring traditional delicacies is offering visitors a unique culinary experience. Organised in the month of October during the festive season of Diwali, the mela is creating a vibrant and celebratory ambiene.
