Rajasthan Technical University Should Prepare Youth for Startups: Governor

Jaipur, Oct 2025 — Governor Shri Haribhau Bagde emphasized that in the present times, many young people are inclined towards establishing their own enterprises. Keeping this in mind, the Rajasthan Technical University (RTU), Kota should focus on promoting innovation and nurturing students to become entrepreneurs.

He said students should be trained in such a way that, upon graduation, they are capable of launching their own startups and becoming job creators rather than job seekers.

The Governor was interacting with the Vice Chancellor, Deans of various faculties, and faculty members of the university on Wednesday. He remarked that over the years, several students from RTU must have established their own ventures or secured prominent positions in reputed companies. The university should highlight such alumni as role models to inspire current students to pursue entrepreneurship.

During discussions on research activities, Governor Bagde advised that PhD scholars should choose research topics that bring meaningful change to society and the nation. Research themes, he said, should be life-enhancing and ensure that the time spent in study yields tangible results.

He also appreciated the university’s initiative to start non-engineering programs such as Fashion Designing, Fine Arts, and Visual Effects in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

During the meeting, officials briefed the Governor on the measures taken to improve academic excellence, efforts to promote research activities in university departments and affiliated colleges, MoUs signed with various institutions, and initiatives to enhance entrepreneurship skills and employment opportunities in accordance with the NEP 2020.
