Chief Minister Meets ITBP Personnel and Local Residents in Border Village Milam

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami visited the border village of Milam in Pithoragarh district on Wednesday. During the visit, he met with the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) personnel and appreciated their dedication to serving the nation, even in challenging geographical conditions.

The Chief Minister praised the ITBP jawans for their discipline, hard work, and patriotism, calling their contribution to the security of the nation and protection of its borders “incomparable” and a source of inspiration for all.

He also interacted with local villagers in the border area and discussed various issues related to development, education, healthcare, employment, and basic infrastructure. The Chief Minister informed them about the welfare schemes being implemented by the state government and assured that their needs would be prioritized.

Highlighting the efforts of the central government, he said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Vibrant Villages Programme is being implemented effectively to ensure the holistic development of border villages. The programme aims to connect these areas with essential facilities, create employment opportunities for local youth, and make the villages self-reliant.

Dhami reaffirmed that the state government is fully committed to the comprehensive development of border regions. He added that in the coming days, roads, communication, healthcare, and education infrastructure in these areas will be strengthened to improve the living standards of people residing along the borders.

Expressing gratitude to the border residents for their cooperation and dedication to the nation, the Chief Minister also made several announcements during his visit:

  • An indoor stadium will be built at Johar Club, Munsyari.
  • The beautification of Nanda Devi Temple in Milam village will be undertaken.
  • A community meeting centre will be constructed in Bilju village.

The event was attended by ITBP IG Sanjay Gunjyal, ITBP personnel, and local residents.
