CM Pushkar Singh Dhami Reaches Rudraprayag to Support Disaster-Hit Families on Igas Festival
On the occasion of the traditional festival Igas, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami reached Rudraprayag to meet families affected by the recent disaster.
During his visit, the Chief Minister conducted an on-ground inspection of the disaster-hit Bhonr area. He shared a meal with affected families and assured them that the state government stands firmly with the people in every moment of crisis. He interacted with the affected families and provided ₹5 lakh each as financial assistance.

Chief Minister Dhami visited Bhonr village under Basukedar tehsil of Rudraprayag district, where he met the families affected by the recent calamity and reviewed relief and reconstruction works. Expressing deep condolences to the families of deceased Kuldeep Singh Negi (forest worker) and Sate Singh, he handed over cheques of ₹5 lakh each as financial support. He stated that the state government is fully committed to the rehabilitation and relief of affected families and that no victim will be left to face hardship alone.
CM Dhami met the affected families personally, listened to their experiences and concerns, and directed officials to provide timely relief and complete all reconstruction works at the earliest. He informed that damaged infrastructure related to roads, drinking water, electricity, housing, and communication has been rapidly restored to help people return to normal life as soon as possible.
The Chief Minister also shared lunch with the affected families. He said that Uttarakhand is a disaster-prone state, and hence the government has taken several strong steps to strengthen disaster management. He instructed officials to maintain transparency, promptness, and sensitivity in all relief measures.
He announced the construction of a permanent helipad in the region to enable quick response during emergencies. Responding to public demands, he also announced the establishment of an Anganwadi centre in Bhonr. Additionally, he declared ₹1 crore for constructing a motorable road up to the village to facilitate two-wheeler movement. He also directed officials to prepare a plan for rehabilitating people in Chenagad who lost their homes and to provide compensation to those whose vehicles were damaged during the disaster.
CM Dhami said that special provisions have been made under the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for the rehabilitation of disaster-hit families. He appealed to the public to remain patient during difficult times and follow all government instructions.
The villagers welcomed the Chief Minister warmly and expressed gratitude for the swift relief efforts of the state government.
Present on the occasion were Rudraprayag MLA Bharat Chaudhary, District Magistrate Prateek Jain, Chief Development Officer Rajendra Singh Rawat, Additional District Magistrate Shyam Singh Rana, Deputy Superintendent of Police Prabodh Ghildiyal, District Disaster Management Officer Nandan Singh Rajwar, officials from the tehsil administration, PWD, Jal Nigam, and other departments, along with public representatives.
