PM Modi Accuses RJD-Congress of “Jungle Raj Politics,” Urges Bihar Voters to Back NDA for Faster Development
Patna: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday launched a fierce assault on the RJD-Congress alliance during a massive election rally in Saharsa, asserting that the opposition bloc has no connection with development and continues to be entrenched in the politics of “jungle raj.” He accused both parties of promoting lawlessness, misgovernance, and corruption, saying their leadership had failed to understand the aspirations of modern Bihar.
Addressing an enthusiastic crowd, Prime Minister Modi said, “Their dictionary is filled only with words like kattas (country-made pistols), cruelty, bitterness, misgovernance, and corruption. These are lessons they learned in the school of jungle raj. The RJD and Congress do not understand the language of development.” He contrasted this with the NDA’s governance, which he described as synonymous with progress, growth, and stability, while branding the opposition alliance as a symbol of destruction and regression.
Highlighting how past political vendettas harmed the state, the Prime Minister said that the people of the Kosi-Mithilanchal region had once suffered immensely due to the neglect and misrule of previous governments. “There was a time when traveling from one end of Kosi-Mithilanchal to the other meant covering nearly 300 kilometers. Today, because of NDA’s efforts, that distance has reduced to less than 30 kilometers,” he said, emphasizing the transformative impact of improved connectivity.
Prime Minister Modi also celebrated India’s historic achievement in winning its first Women’s Cricket World Cup title, calling it a testament to the growing confidence of women from small towns, farmers’ families, and lower-middle-class households. He said that women’s empowerment has been a priority for the NDA government and highlighted efforts done at the national and state levels.
Citing Bihar’s Jeevika Didi movement and the Chief Minister’s Employment Scheme, he noted that nearly 1.4 crore women in the state have received ₹10,000 each in their accounts under different initiatives. These measures, he said, have contributed significantly to social and economic upliftment and strengthened the foundation for a more developed Bihar.
The Prime Minister asserted that Bihar has witnessed a strong acceleration in development over recent years, particularly in infrastructure, healthcare, education, and rural upliftment. He appealed to voters to once again elect the NDA government to maintain the momentum and ensure sustained progress. “Our aim is to create opportunities so that the youth of Bihar can find employment right here and bring glory to the state,” he said. “We want the youth of Bihar to work in Bihar and make Bihar proud.”
Addressing first-time voters, he urged them to cast their ballots wisely. “There are many young men and women here who will be voting for the first time. When I cast my first vote, I prayed that it should not go to waste. Today, I want to tell you—your first vote should help in forming a stable government. Your vote will strengthen the NDA.”
With only two days left before the first phase of polling, Prime Minister Modi reminded citizens that voting in Saharsa and Madhepura would begin on the morning of November 6. He called on voters to turn out in large numbers and choose a government that, he said, is committed to development, stability, and a brighter future for Bihar.
As the election campaign intensifies, the Prime Minister’s sharp criticism of the opposition and his emphasis on development is expected to shape political discourse in the final days before polling begins.
