From Minimum Support Price to Self-Reliance: Farmer Hansraj Sahu’s Hard Work Changed the PaceE-Scooter Becomes a Symbol of Prosperity

Raipur, December 2025 : The farmer-friendly policies of the Chhattisgarh government are today laying a strong foundation of prosperity and self-reliance in villages. The transparent system of paddy procurement at the minimum support price has brought positive changes to the lives of farmers. One such inspiring story is that of farmer Mr. Hansraj Sahu from village Bodra in Dhamtari district, who, by availing the benefits of government schemes, not only strengthened his financial condition but also adopted modern facilities.

Mr. Hansraj Sahu says that during the last Kharif season, he sold his paddy at the minimum support price through the Sambalpur Cooperative Society. With the amount received from the sale of paddy, he purchased an e-scooter, which has today become a symbol of convenience, time savings, and self-reliance for him. Riding the swift e-scooter, he now finds it easy to travel to Dhamtari city, his fields, relatives’ homes, and for daily chores. This has not only reduced fuel expenses but has also led to significant savings in time.

Mr. Sahu owns a total of 2 acres and 25 dismil of agricultural land, where he cultivates paddy by combining traditional experience with modern agricultural understanding. This year, he sold a total of 46 quintals and 40 kilograms of paddy at the minimum support price. He is extremely satisfied with the timely payment and the transparent process. He shared that the amount received from the paddy sale this year will be used for important family responsibilities such as his son’s marriage, creating an atmosphere of happiness in the entire family.

Expressing his gratitude to Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Deo Sai, Mr. Hansraj Sahu said that the “Tuhar Token” mobile app has made the process of selling paddy extremely simple, transparent, and farmer-friendly. From registration to sale, farmers no longer face any unnecessary difficulties.

This success story of farmer Hansraj Sahu is strong proof that when the government’s visionary policies and digital innovations are effectively implemented on the ground, farmers become empowered and their standard of living continuously rises to new heights. This story is also an inspiration for other farmers in the state to take maximum advantage of government schemes and move forward on the path of prosperity.
