CM Sawant Greets People On Independence Day
Panaji : On this momentous occasion of Independence Day, Chief Minister, Dr Pramod Sawant extended his heartfelt greetings to each one of you and paid homage to freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for freedom. As we remember the courageous sacrifices of our freedom fighters, let us honour their unwavering dedication and tireless efforts that secured our nation’s liberation from colonial rule, he added. In his message, he said “Independence Day is an occasion to reconnect without history.
Independence Day reminds us that we are not merely individuals, but we are part of a great community of people. India is the Mother of Democracy and since ancient times we had democratic institutions functioning at the grassroots. But long years of colonial rule wiped them out. On 15th August 1947, the nation woke up to new dawn. We not only won freedom from foreign rule, but also the freedom to rewrite our destiny”. This freedom provides us with a profound opportunity to guide our nation towards a future of peace and prosperity. It is our collective responsibility to build a just and equitable society where every individual can thrive.
Today is the day we pay our respects to our beautiful nation. Our country’s strength lies in its rich heritage and cultural legacy. Embracing the spirit of Aatmanirbhar, will foster a sense of patriotic pride and drive our nation forward, he said. On this Independence Day, I join my fellow citizens in paying grateful tribute to the known and unknown freedom fighters whose sacrifices have made it possible for India to regain its rightful place on the world stage. Let’s remember our past, honour our heroes, and shape a future full of promise. Keeping alive the tradition of celebrating our Tiranga, Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji has once again given a clarion call to every Bharatiya to participate in this nationwide movement of Har Ghar Tiranga.
Let us work together to fulfil the vision of our forebears and continue to uphold the values of freedom and unity. Freedom in mind, Faith in our heart, Memories in our souls, let’s salute the Nation on Independence Day, Chief Minister concluded
