CM reviews law and order and development works, gives strict instructions

Varanasi : Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath conducted a review meeting on development and law and order with public representatives and departmental officials at the Circuit House and gave strict instructions, during his visit to Kashi for the second time in the month of Shravan.

CM Yogi emphasized the importance of completing ongoing development projects with high standards and efficiency, urging that they be executed swiftly, akin to a war-time campaign. He warned that any negligence in these projects would not be tolerated. While reviewing law and order, the CM instructed police officers to act promptly on criminal intelligence, ensuring strict measures are taken against habitual and professional criminals. Additionally, he directed the District Magistrate to expedite the construction of the proposed Medical College in Pandeypur and the Homeopathic College in Vidhan Sabha Pindra.

District Magistrate S. Rajalingam briefed CM Yogi on the ongoing construction projects in the city. He mentioned that NHAI is handling the work on Ring Road Phase-2, but due to the rising water levels of the Ganga, completion of the bridge and one lane of the connecting road has been pushed to February 2025. Noting the repeated delays in the six-lane road widening project from Mohansarai to Cantt, the Chief Minister instructed the Public Works Department to accelerate efforts and complete the project promptly, ensuring the public benefits from it.

The CM urged attention to the quality of the work of the four lane road widening and improvement from Lahartara- BHU-Vijaya Cinema and asked to expedite the work. He ordered to complete the construction work of ROV, Kajjakpura on a war footing and to make the railway overbridges as per the standard. He also directed that the construction of the ROV in Kajjakpura be completed swiftly, with railway overbridges built to standard. The CM instructed the District Magistrate to promptly begin work on the proposed Medical College in Pandeypur and the Homeopathic College in Vidhan Sabha Pindra. He further asked the Public Works Department to repair the damaged sewer line in Ramnagar and to proceed with the planned road near Markandey Mahadev after discussions with relevant parties.

Additionally, he instructed the District Magistrate to resolve the commuting issues at Harishchandra Ghat. The CM directed the District Magistrate to start the construction work of the proposed Medical College in Pandeypur and Homeopathic College in Vidhansabha Pindra soon. The CM told the Public Works Department to repair the damaged sewerage line in Ramnagar soon.

The Chief Minister emphasized on simplification of works by using technology in Development Authority, Municipal Corporation and Gram Panchayats.He emphasised on making the Gram Panchayats self-reliant and said that first some Gram Panchayats should be made self-reliant and presented as models. The CM directed the officers to regularly conduct public hearings, communicate with the public and note down their problems and resolve them immediately. Officers should also hold meetings with public representatives.

The Chief Minister said that inter-departmental coordination among the departments is very important. “The concerned departments should sit together and prepare the DPR of the project and work in coordination. This will also reduce the cost of the project and the work will be completed on time”

He especially directed to expedite the works of Public Works Department and State Construction Corporation and complete them on time. He directed to bring further improvement in the works of Jal Jeevan Mission, a very important scheme for rural drinking water, and complete the projects on time with quality.

The CM directed to completely free the city from single-use plastic and to resolve problems like drainage, cleanliness, garbage collection, waterlogging etc. on priority. He directed to keep the street lights in good condition and to ensure that there is no electric shock during rain. The Chief Minister also directed to nominate a nodal officer for every development work going on in the district and to ensure progress by reviewing it weekly.

Identifying people who have been posted on various desks and fields in VDA and Municipal Corporation for years and the CM directed to remove them immediately and transfer them to other places and to simplify the map process. He directed to conduct the upcoming proposed police recruitment examination in a completely transparent and clean manner.
