On Sunday, food grain packets were distributed to 2,735 and lunch packs to 100 flood victims

Lucknow : Though the intensity of the floods in the state has subsided, the Yogi government’s commitment to aiding those affected remains unwavering. CM Yogi has directed officials to continue relief operations until every affected village receives the necessary aid.

Relief efforts are currently in full swing across 11 flood-affected districts. On Sunday, 2,735 people received food packets, and two community kitchens (langars) were set up.

In areas where flood waters have receded, medical teams are taking proactive measures to prevent the spread of infectious diseases.

Relief Commissioner GS Naveen reported that 11 districts in the state—Banda, Azamgarh, Ballia, Barabanki, Lakhimpur Kheri, Bijnor, Deoria, Farrukhabad, Gorakhpur, Gonda, and Sitapur—are currently impacted by floods.

Eighty-nine thousand eight hundred eighty-eight people across 133 villages and 12 erosion-prone areas in 18 tehsils are affected. On Sunday, relief assistance was provided to 15,523 people.

Additionally, 4,909 cattle have been relocated to safe places, although one cattle death was reported due to the floods. The survey report of this loss has been sent to the District Magistrate, and compensation amount will be deposited into the accounts of the affected cattle owners within the next 24 hours.

The floods have also impacted 13,239 hectares of land, and a survey is underway to assess crop damage. Relief efforts continued with the support of 341 boats and motorboats, and on Sunday, 2,735 food grain packets and 100 lunch packets were distributed. Two community kitchens (langars) also provided meals to those affected.

The Relief Commissioner reported that 165 quintals of fodder had been distributed to cattle owners for livestock affected by the floods. In response to potential seasonal diseases, 5,131 chlorine tablets and 2,396 ORS packets were distributed in the areas affected, and 615 medical teams are conducting health checkups for residents. The situation is being closely monitored through 802 flood posts.

Additionally, 713 flood shelters are operational across these districts, currently housing 50 people. A total of 287 individuals were rescued and relocated to safer areas.
