Chakradhar Samaroh-2024: Contribute in preserving classical art: Justice Shri Sanjay Agarwal

On the eighth day of this 39-year-old Chakradhar Samaroh, which is composed of melody, rhythm, rhyme and ghungroo, the artists of Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata and Satna, including those from Raigarh Gharana, mesmerized the connoisseurs and the audience with Bharatnatyam, Kuchipudi, Manipuri and classical singing. The audience was overwhelmed with the unique and live presentation of Ganpati Aradhana, Shiv Vandana, Radha-Krishna’s Raasleela and Krishna and Sakha’s Makhan Chori, woven with classical music by these artists. The splendid presentation of Kathak by Raigarh Gharana also added a special charm to the ceremony.  

High Court Justice Shri Sanjay Agarwal, who attended the Chakradhar ceremony, praised the program. He said that classical art is gradually diminishing. We need to contribute to maintain classical art. Classical art should be promoted by giving a platform through the program. Raigarh residents have contributed a lot in making the program successful. He said that art can be taken further with experience and energy. He also wished and congratulated all the artists. In the ceremony, High Court Justice Shri Sanjay Agarwal, MP Shri Devendra Pratap Singh, Principal District and Sessions Judge Shri Jitendra Kumar Jain, Collector Shri Kartikeya Goyal, SP Shri Divyang Patel honored Mumbai’s Bharatnatyam artist Shri Krishnabhadra Namboodri, Manipuri dancer Ms. Paushaali Chatterjee and classical singer Shri Vinod Mishra.

Paushaali Chatterjee from Kolkata presented Radha-Krishna Holi, Krishna and Sakha’s Makhan Chori to the audience through Manipuri dance. While Mumbai’s renowned Bharatanatyam artist Ms Krishnabhadra Namboodri brought alive the Ganesh Vandana presented in the temples of South India through dance.

In the programme, renowned musician Mr. Vinod Mishra from Satna presented classical singing. Similarly, under the leadership of Dr. Raghupatruni Srikant, the artists presented Ganpati and Shiv Vandana, on the occasion of marriage at a very fast pace with expressions and forced the audience to keep looking at them continuously. Similarly, with Kathak dance, the dancers also spread fragrance on the stage with their excellent performance. The atmosphere became devotional with the worship of Shiva and Krishna Raas Leela. The little artists mesmerized the audience with their dancing skills.

On the eighth day of Chakradhar Samaroh, the artists of Raigarh started the program by giving their first performance on the stage. First of all, Ms. Ananta Pandey and Shaswati Banerjee performed Kathak dance and received a lot of applause. Shaswati Banerjee presented the worship of Shiva in her dance. Under the leadership of Ms. Tabu Parveen, her disciples performed Kathak in a very beautiful form as Krishna Raasleela. The young artists kept the audience captivated with their beauty. Everyone praised this Raasleela. All these artists were felicitated by Rajya Sabha MP Shri Devendra Pratap Singh and other guests with shawls, coconuts and souvenirs.

 In the next presentation of the program, Raipur’s Kathak artist Ms. Sangeeta Kapse, Geetika Chakradhar and Radhika Sharma presented Ramlala’s life philosophy through dance on stage. In the next presentation of the program, Mumbai’s renowned Bharatnatyam artist Ms. Krishnabhadra Namboodri brought alive the Ganesh Vandana presented in the temples of South India through dance. With the help of the technical team, she presented an attractive Bharatnatyam performance with expressions.

Ms. Paushaali Chatterjee from Kolkata, along with her colleagues, dressed in attractive costumes, gave a beautiful performance of Manipuri dance. She brought alive the feeling of playing Holi with Radha-Krishna and the gopis. Paushaali Chatterjee presented the scene of stealing butter on the stage, depicting the childhood form of Krishna, through Manipuri dance. Ms. Chatterjee, along with her colleagues, presented the mridang playing and hand clapping in a very rhythmic manner. She presented the description of Vrindavan and Dashavatara in dance. Along with dancer Paushaali, her senior disciples – Shriparna Sarkar, Moumita Hazra, Ankita Ghorai and Ratna Majumdar and Tanmana Roy and Suvra Bhowmick, Jhinuk Roy Chakraborty performed. Famous musician Mr. Vinod Mishra (Khayal and Thumri Gwalior Gharana) from Satna presented Ragamala and classical singing. He presented songs like Maan Jao Saiyan…Aa Ja Balam Pardesh… in his own style. The audience listened to his presentation with great attention.

The Kuchipudi dancers from Srikakulam, who had immersed themselves in the tunes of music, presented a wonderful group dance. Under the leadership of Dr. Raghupatruni Srikanth, the artists performed Ganpati and Shiv Vandana, marriage occasion dances with very fast expressions on the stage and forced the audience to keep looking at them. Their dance of Shivshakti Upasana was also captivating. The artists who had performed Kuchipudi in the Republic Day celebrations in New Delhi also received a lot of applause from the audience. In the last performance of the program, Alok Shrivas, who had come from Delhi, presented his captivating Kathak dance by making the best use of his every limb. During this, he was accompanied by Mr. Bhupendra Bareth in Padhant, Sahil Singh in singing, Devendra Shrivas in Tabla and Shafiq Hussain in Sarangi.
