Tourism Minister Hosts Hnahsin Kut Celebration

Champhai : On October 4, Tourism Minister Pi Lalrinpuii celebrated Hnahsin Kut in Champhai, emphasizing the significance of the occasion.

During the event, Minister Lalrinpuii highlighted the government’s commitment to enhancing the livelihood of rural communities through the newly introduced Community-Based Tourism initiative. She noted that the Mizoram government is focused on improving tourism to support local residents and that Hnahsin Kut serves as a platform for the Champhai Nature Conservancy (CNC) to showcase its efforts and foster community engagement.

The Minister expressed that the CNC’s initiatives will benefit the local population and contribute significantly to the tourism sector. She emphasized that the state government, along with the Tourism Department, is fully committed to this cause. The celebration of Hnahsin Kut aims to strengthen the connection between local communities and the government, while promoting sustainable tourism practices.

Pi Lalrinpuii stated that Champhai District is not only beautiful but also culturally rich, making it an attractive destination for tourists. She added that with the Swadesh Darshan 2.0 initiative, various tourism development projects are in the pipeline to further enhance the region’s appeal.

The Hnahsin Kut festival is a time for communities to come together and celebrate their heritage. Minister Lalrinpuii emphasized the importance of preserving traditions while embracing opportunities for economic growth through tourism.

The Minister announced that the Tourism Department has received funding from the North Eastern Council for the Hnahsin Kut celebrations, which include various activities. She acknowledged the Organizing Committee’s efforts, which involved extensive planning, and mentioned that documents would be submitted in due course.
